True aficionados of Efrains II and its sister restaurant (Efrain’s I in Lafayette) believe it is the best Northern Mexican, Chihuahua-style food in town with a fervor akin to religion. Die-hard fans love the laid back atmosphere and generous portions, to say nothing of the home-made authentic food. While the Boulder restaurant is located in an business parking lot on... More

Blanketed with cheap melted cheese, my enchiladas were third rate at this for-some-reason popular place. Diner-like atmosphere.

The most authentic Mexican food in Boulder. The chili verde is amazing! Expect a wait. It's worth it! And cheap!

We had lunch with the family, that was my first time at Efrain's, the others been there few times already and recommended on Efrain's as the most traditional style Mexican food. Indeed, they have the best dishes that most close to the original served in Mexico . Oh - There is no WiFi in the restaurant, too bad.

Disclaimer...I'm Hispanic. We come to Boulder often to Snowboard at Eldora. We're from Texas, travel quite a bit and try Mexican food everywhere. We also lived in AZ, (the home of the best Mexican Food...yes I said it). Efrain's is always on the agenda and it never disappoints. The Chili Verde is amazing (and spicy) and the Efrains Burritos is... More

People are very loyal fans of this restaurant. I don't really get it, but I've only been here a few times in the last ten years. Went for lunch today, had the chicken blue corn enchilada with chile verde on top. It took forever for the food to arrive. For my taste, this has too much chicken, too much cheese,... More

This is one of our normal stops when in Boulder. All of the food has a spiciness rating for those not familiar or with sensitive taste buds. None-the-less, I find things less spicy (hot) than is shown on their charts.

This restaurant is in an unpretentious metal warehouse building. There is usually a 20-30 minute wait when it is busy. Even the chips and salsa are very good. I ordered the Blue Corn Enchiladas. Superb! I told the waitress that I wanted it served at hotness level 10 and was not disappointed. The plates were so big that we have... More
