I've been telling all my Foodie Family & friends in Miami that they have to go to Boulder just to experience the magnificence of the Culinary genius that brings a newfound meaning to the word "WOW." In everyway, the professional, caring staff, starting at hello from the Receptionist makes this experience absolutely memorable. The Chef & his brilliant Staff bring... More

I've been to some wonderful restaurants. And some I have rated 5 out of 5. Then I went to Black Cat. And I need the scale to go to 6. My wife and I sat next to each other facing the kitchen in this intimate space. We both selected the tasting menu, leaving the food and wine selections to our... More

Black Cat is one of the most incredible dining experiences I have had. I opted for the Chef's Tasting Menu. After specifying dietary restrictions/preferences, we were provided with 6 fantastic selections, each accompanied by a brief discussion from the chef and owner, Eric Skokan. Eric is far from pretentious and gave great backgrounds on not only each dish, but many... More

Given the reviews and comments I had heard, I had high hopes for the Black Cat. Unfortunately, my hopes were not met. Last weekend, 6 of us went to the Black Cat. 4 ordered off of the menu and 2 of us had the tasting menu including the wine pairings. The food was fine but there was nothing that "wow'd"... More

My wife and I with another couple dined this past week at Black Cat. We had not been there before but the ther couple had. We all chose the tasting dinner with the paired wines. We had a few requirements which were wonderfully met. One of our party is a pescatarian with shellfish allergies. Another with shellfish allergies, and one... More

When you go for the six-course meal -- maybe you'll do this once a year, once every five years -- the courses keep coming. It's expensive, so save your pennies. It's filling, so don't come full. The descriptions as each course is laid down (better with the wines which have their own narrative) -- are theatrical, engaging, thorough, and expertly... More

We spend a lot of time in Boulder and have enjoyed many of the local restaurants. The dishes at Black Cat are very special. Rather than 7 course dinner experience with wine pairing ( next time ) we opted to do basic appetizers , entrees and dessert as we came in hungry and felt a hearty entree would be best.... More

We paid $72 pp and the tasting menu was very good. Since it changes frequently, I won't comment on particulars except to say it was very high quality, interesting dishes and a spectacular dessert. The service is absolutely perfect. I felt completely welcomed and pampered. My reason for not giving it five stars is that the wines are seriously overpriced.

We enjoyed the chef's tasting menu with premium wine pairing. Every plate was excellent - well presented and paired with the perfect wine. Service was attentive and engaging from the greeting at the door, inquiries on our preferences and the presentations of each of the 6 courses.

In a town with a LOT of great restaurants, Black Cat is one of the very best. This is a place where great food is served with pride by people who care about great food and a wonderful restaurant experience. And they do all this in a warm, charming and relatively informal environment -- not the least bit of stuffiness.... More
