This place claims to be Mexican. I've eaten Mexican food from the Yucatan to Sonora and from Tex Mex to New Mex... this ain't that. The food was awful. Here's one tiny example. You'd think it would be hard to mess up black beans. All you really have to do is open a can. I don't what they were trying... More
Cudos to the hiring manager (Kate??). We went there several times and the staff were all excellent (especially Heli and Dave). They have a killer happy hour special margarita! Excellent food and specials. Easy to get to (right in the heart of "downtown") and accessible by bus if necessary.
Great food in an awesome atmosphere. We had a party there for about 50 people. Some of us arrived early, but were immediately welcomed by Hele, one of the owners. The service was prompt. I love Tex-Mex food and Donita's did not disappoint.
Enjoyed the Mexican dinner but weren't really pleased with the atmosphere. During our meal, a large dog for away from someone in the back and ran out into the dining floor. As the workers corralled the dog, it pee'ed on the carpet next to our table. Sort of out a damper on what was a good evening dinner.
We couldn't visit CB and not go back to Donita's. It's still a favorite in town with great food and the bartender was friendly and did not disappoint; his margs pack a punch.
We did not eat here as we were unable to get my wife's wheel through the snow behind the building.Handicapped access is through the rear of the building.Check with the hostess first.I did not see any handicapped parking at the rear of the building.
We ordered the fajitas with three meat options: chicken, steak, and shrimp. They were amazing, quite possibly the best batch of fajitas we've ever had! Donita's is a MUST have during each and every trip to Crested Butte. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly and service oriented. You just can't go wrong at Donita's!
