We lucked into a walk in. Reservations are encouraged. Upon entering the bar of the Slogar I felt like I had stepped into an old west saloon. The dining room felt more like a parlor room. When you enter the waiting room and a waist high Chicken statuary greets you, there is no doubt what to order. Chicken or Steak... More

Dinner at Slogar's is an experience you will enjoy and talk about for years to come! Fabulous homemade food, served family style, and lots of it! Get ready for a three-course meal with the main course -- fried chicken, gravy, biscuits, mashed potatoes, sweet corn, honey butter, and jelly. You may add a steak with your meal for additional $$.... More

We were told not to miss this place when we were vacationing in Crested Butte. So glad someone gave us that hint, because it was awesome! The kind of homecooking we grew up with in the south. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and all served family style! So delicious!

Run, don't walk to this place. It fills up pretty fast, so get reservations no matter when you want to go. But the experience is as close to "going to Grandma's" as you can imagine.

The best fried chicken. They have a steak option but stick with the fried chicken, it's worth the splurge. You can burn it off on the slopes. Large portions and as much as you want. The biscuits are to die for. The service is always amazingly friendly. Slogar's is a must every time we come to Crested Butte. We've been... More

We looked up this place for dinner after some friends told us about it. Started that the server that was pleasant never mention they serve steak, as a sub to Chicken. But we were more interested in the Chicken. The meal was served and tasted good but the gravy as someone else mentioned is thin, not chicken gravy and cold.... More

If you have an opportunity, do not miss Slogars. This is home cooking at its best. Fried chicken is outstanding, portions are more then generous and everything is delicious. The chutney prior to the meal is also great.

This is a "family style" fried chicken place. I received a chicken thigh that was cut half in two and was attached to the chicken back. What this piece included was half of the thigh and one forth of the back. When I was a kid our family eat the entire chicken including the back. When I am paying $25... More
