We showed up at Sassafras around 11 on a Tuesday. We lucked out and got the last seat for it became really crowded. The server stated it's always busy here and you usually have to wait before you get seated. Great relaxing atmosphere. Modest yet clever decor. Great food. My husband loved the Flight of Mini Bloodys- first time we... More

Very quaint building. Good service. Very busy because it's deservedly popular the fried green tomato Benedict was excellent.

Interesting place that we were referred to as "an experience" and it certainly was. Didn't expect to be dropped off at a renovated house, but loved the eclectic original feel of the place. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes, which was what they said when we checked in. The overall vibe was great, and it was obvious the staff... More

This is one of my favorite Denver restaurants. The food is appealing - the service is outstanding. Why do I like to come back - because of the food and the wait staff - the very best!

While I do plan on returning to eat a more hearty meal (the bacon and the biscuits were amazing by the way) I really want to comment on how welcoming and kind the staff are. I came in for a late breakfast a few days ago in the midst of a rough start to my morning and all the staff... More

Great atmosphere, excellent service from Rachel. Really delicious and southern style food. Extensive mimosa menu is a bonus. Busy on Sat/Sun but you can call ahead when you are on your way and get your name on the wait list. Loved this service!

Very casual; in an old victorian house. Four of us had breakfast and thought everything delicious. The biscuits in particular were scrumptious.

Sassafras is the only place I go for breakfast/lunch anymore. It's funky and easy, and the food is awesome and unique. Located in a Victorian house, it has a nice outside patio. The food is from scratch, with generous portions. My favorite is the Cajun Benedict (served on crab cakes, not English muffins, with fried oysters). Try the chicken-fried eggs... More

I have been here on several occasions, the service is always great and the food is delicious. Portions are reasonable size, so you don't waste food. I highly recommend the chicken fried eggs & buffalo hash. Lovely old house, small and cozy. Make a reservation during the week or call ahead on the weekend as it gets busy!

Had breakfast there for the first time at this quaint little restaurant. Great service, the really good coffee, and an unbelievable menu. I had Buffalo hash, with homemade cornbread and what they call chicken fried eggs. Just exquisite. Looks like a fabulous lunch menu also. I'm guessing because it is so good, lines may often be long. They have lots... More
