Cute and cozy. The staff was friendly and offered great service. Food was a more modern flare of the Mexican food I normally get but was still good.

I had the carne asada with swiss charred and black beans. The carne asada was tasty and cooked perfectly. Yet the black beans were plain; we have better at home. The restaurant is bright and has a cool vibe. I would return.

If you want good mexican food in a cool place, Tamayo is the place to go. The margarita was fresh, the guacamole was spicy and the wait staff was attentive. It is a small, open location which is located on the corner of 14th Street which is close but far enough from all the madness on 16th Street. Perfect quiet... More

Loved being able to sit outside here (even though it might just have been he fact that I'm used to New England cold and was just excited it was 55°). Food was good, margaritas were strong. Guac was crazy, get the one with crab in it!

It has been several years since I have been back and you can blame the explosive growth of the Denver restaurant scene for that...thankfully, you did not disappoint. Love the expansive list of tequilas to choose from and I appreciate your bartender's generous pour. Your guacamole is nicely seasoned--just the right amount of heat. And, perks to the server who... One of the best restaurant experiences in a long time. We made a reservation, which appears to be recommended. We had the queso appetizer, huitlacoche enchiladas, and pork carnitas, and it was all very good. The margaritas were so fresh and also good. Wish we lived closer and could go back!

I visited Tamayo whilst on a business trip to Denver. The restaurant is in a good location and was very busy when we visited. I'd say for a business meal the music volume was a bit high so we struggled to hear all of our conversations. This wouldn't matter if you weren't trying to talk work though. There's a good... More

This Mexican food is clsoer to the finer dining you would get in Mexico City and North. Definately not Tex Mex, or Colorado Mex or even Southern California Mex. Really good though with a nice twist on traditional dishes

The menus at Tamayo offer a modern interpretation of authentic Mexican food with recipes created by critically acclaimed Chef/Owner Richard Sandoval at his Maya Restaurant in New York City. Our warm decor is spectacular with amber & coral colored walls featuring exquisite artwork that includes silver encrusted toucans, silver and volcanic rock guacamole bowls & Mayan masks to keep a watchful eye over the restaurant. Tamayo is truly a unique dining experience for intimate business luncheons, dinners, social events and large celebrations as well.
