Had a wonderful dinner with a great atmosphere. Service was wonderful! We had the bison short ribs and the stuffed poblano. Excellent! Our only complaint was the added salmon to my poblano and it was a 2 x 3 piece for an extra $7!!! Way to small for the price!! Overall would recommend!!

I wasn't ready for the heat this pizza packed but I was pleasantly surprised. I asked for the steak to be rare, and it was perfect, the green chile sauce on the pizza was amazing!!

We eat here for lunch and dinner about once a week. The food is always consistently great! Love their combinations in their dishes and they always have great specials. You will not be disappointed with anything you order!

My family and I ate lunch here on a visit to Durango. One of my favorite things about it was the atmosphere. The restaurant has an eclectic design, comfortable booths, and the smells coming from the stone ovens are intoxicating. They have a few good local beers on tap. The menu is small but varied, and everything we got was... More

We are locals in Durango and it is where we take out of towners who come to visit us and where we go to eat if we are downtown. My husband says it has the best salmon in town. I love the beef, soup, chicken, and salads.

Visited Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen Saturday, Jan 14, 2017 and got there a bit after they opened at 11am. The hostess ask where we wanted to sit, which is always nice, then water was brought with the menus. We ordered Patron Margaritas - where were perfect... then ordered the guacamole and chips... nice chunky guacamole and a good bite to... More

Ventured into town from the mountain area. Had reservations at Seasons but when we walked by Chimayo we decided to give it a try instead. We were not disappointed! Food: Brussels sprout appetizer - small but yummy! It did take forever to come out but the waiter said it was bc a large party just turned in their order before... More

We had a fantastic dinner on a Saturday night at this busy hot-spot in town. The food was unique and delicious. The menu has many choices. We had wonderful appetizers, dinner and couldn't resist the strawberry Nutella pizza desert, which we shared and still had some to take home! We sat up at the counter overlooking the fire-ovens and saw... More

We had a very late lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches. In fact it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. The cornbread was pretty good, but the combination of flavors in the chicken flatbread sandwich was awesome.

Walked in hoping for a happy hour drink and appetizer. Hostess proceeded to tell us about specials. As we were preparing to sit the owner stepped towards us in a very rude tone and said "happy hour is done early because it's new years." We felt like she was trying to push us out the door.

Description
Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen is a contemporary American bistro with a southwestern flair. Fresh salads, creative small plates, artisanal pizzas, and fire-roasted steaks, chicken and seafood are prepared in twin 600+ degree stone hearth ovens in an open kitchen. The Owners have restored the interior of the historic Century Building on Main Avenue, revealing turn-of-the century Carnegie steel support beams, the original maple hardwood floor and decorative tin ceiling tiles, and the original brick wall. These historical elements, along with the expo kitchen, rollup windows, and 35-foot curved bar, create an urban industrial loft setting for a unique Durango dining experience.
