This restaurant was recommended by local folks in some of the stores we stopped in and their advertising was interesting to us. Our wait person, Anna, was very friendly & helpful & patient. Oh yes, the food was very good as well.

An absolutely one in a lifetime experience. My Wife & I had a very special opportunity of meeting the Owner/Head Chef, Michael Lufty. This all begin with a quest in search of a delicious highly rated restaurant to spend our anniversary. My wife deligently searched...More

I really enjoyed my meal called zoodles, consisting of zucchini & squash & various veggies. The chile sauce was delish. Hubby had carne asada with red & green chile sauces. He said the meat could've been seasoned better, don't know why he eats steak out...More

Chanced upon this restaurant our first night in Durango and went back the next night for an equally excellent meal. Personable and knowledgeable server too.

We went in with a group of 18. I had called in advance for reservations at 6:30 on a Saturday night and they worked hard to ensure they could accommodate us. Then our rafting plans changed and I had to change the time to 7:30....More

We were looking for a different restaurant, but stumbled on this one and had a wonderful meal with excellent service and al fresco dining. Our granddaughters loved the pizza! The macaroni and cheese has a more grown up taste though, so stick with the pizza...More

Different is good at times and this comfortable establishment offered some enjoyable choices. We started out with Roasted Brussel Sprouts. A generous serving that was good, but not as good as others we have had over recent years. We probably would NOT get it again....More

The menu wasn't really our type of food. But we tried. Wasn't that great. Had the fish tacos and burger. 52 bucks

Really enjoyed the restaurant, very nice decor. Service including the hostess to our waiter was very professional and personal. The house salad, simple as it is was delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We wandered into Chimayo on a Friday night, having read the TA reviews, and gotten a huge thumbs up from our hotel. The place was packed as there was college graduation the next day, and we were lucky to get the last two seats at...More

We only accept reservation for parties of 6 or more. If your party is smaller than that, we are extremely efficient and you should not wait long, if at all.

Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen is a contemporary American bistro with a southwestern flair. Fresh salads, creative small plates, artisanal pizzas, and fire-roasted steaks, chicken and seafood are prepared in twin 600+ degree stone hearth ovens in an open kitchen. The Owners have restored the interior of the historic Century Building on Main Avenue, revealing turn-of-the century Carnegie steel support beams, the original maple hardwood floor and decorative tin ceiling tiles, and the original brick wall. These historical elements, along with the expo kitchen, rollup windows, and 35-foot curved bar, create an urban industrial loft setting for a unique Durango dining experience.
