When we arrived there was a long wait but we sampled beer in the bar and ordered appetizers. Food was very good but not exclaimable, it’s definitely a fun scene and overall we enjoyed everything and would go back.

Stayed in Durango to ride the train a few years back. Asked train staff for dinner recommendations. They mentioned multiple places but all of them mentioned Steamworks. So happy we went there. Now we always go the Steamworks when we’re in Durango. Once again, we...More

Our first visit was a disaster, surly waiter/mgr, slow service, and lots of people complaining their food was undercooked or cold. If mgr ask how your meal tastes, then it's not wise to get defensive about an honest response. If you plant a customer in...More

Peanut shells go on the floor; lots of choices of beer; good food with huge portions. We had a wonderful server and enough food for lunch the next day.

The food is great and the beer selection is excellent. Servers were friendly and gave good tips for what to order, service was quick. I went at a pretty busy time but was able to grab a seat at the bar with no issue. Would...More

Fun atmosphere with a large group, but just average food. People in our party had the crab boil (Good), hamburgers (Good), Ahi wrap (Good) and a buffalo chicken lettuce wrap (Fair). Microbrews are all great.

Great beer, and hands down our favorite brewpub in Durango. The employees work hard to make your visit a good experience and the Friday happy hour is a hoot.

Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.
