Jax is reliably great. The food is fresh and perfectly cooked. The happy hour specials are wonderful (fresh raw oysters at $1.50 each; the waitress recommended a superb wine at HH pricing.) The fresh, never frozen king crab was terrific and the grouper was superbly cooked. I didn't want the sides it came with on the menu so they prepared... More

I have been to Jax many times. Today I got there just before 4 PM. I didn't have to fight for a place at the bar to sit. In fact I had 3 dozen fresh oysters before many people had arrived. Jax is a great place to go to get a variety of oysters.

I've been here before and it was much better then. I particularly remember when it had a wine pairing co-sponsored with another restaurant which was very good. However, it now has lost all interest for me. I went during great plates because I THOUGHT it would be nice to eat there for a cause. I was WRONG. The first bad... More

Disappointing hot oysters. However, the greens salad (with dates, citrus, feta) was excellent. Small serving is more than enough.

Our group of friends - about a dozen of us have driven from Cheyenne to eat at Jax every month for the last 3 months because it's fabulous and we don't have much Fab in Cheyenne. Went here on a Saturday night, 2 of us for a date night. We made reservations, which not sure if needed or not as we were seated right away but it did not appear there were many empty tables. It is actually smaller than I would have imagined and there are not a ton of tables. Seafood was very fresh... More

Fresh, sustainable seafood prepared with a creative twist. Chef Ricky Meyers knows his stuff. Always consider the evening special. Always. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about wines . Take his advice and discover something new.

We popped into the Fort Collins location assuming that it would be every bit as good as the LoDo location in Denver. We were not disappointed - we arrived & partook of the Happy Hour specials. The service was excellent. Love the peel and eat shrimp, calamari, and the clam chowder is to die for.

Named "Best Restaurant in 2011", Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar has taken Fort Collins by storm. Serving up the freshest, most sustainable seafood alongside the highest quality, farm-fresh local produce, Jax has quickly become an Old Town favorite. Jax happy hour never disappoints, with the ever-lively Oyster Bar and a selection of locally brewed craft beers & handcrafted cocktails. With so much fresh fish, they ought to change the city's name to "Port" Collins!
