Wow! We will need to go back to explore the incredible breakfast menu, including burritos, huevos rancheros, lox or crab cake bennies and several types of hash. We had the fresh squeezed orange juice, it was so perfect we had to order another glass. The coffee wasn't anything to write home about, but the staff was careful to offer refills... More

The French Press features a menu of scrumptious items and all in our family were very impressed. Of particular note was the corned beef hash which was the best I've ever tasted and I typically use that menu item to judge many things about a restaurant. Theirs was homemade and excellent in every respect. I ordered poached eggs with it... More

Waited 15 min for an americano and plain bagel not toasted (I was traveling and could not eat in and wanted it to later). To go order came with toasted bagel - and had to wait another 15 min for them to pull plain, uncut bagel from back. Seemed very unorganized.

I live in Belmar and frequent The French Press. My favorite meal is the Bennie (Toasted English muffin, 2 poached eggs, shaved ham, avocado, topped with hollandaise, and served with a side of taters) and black coffee. Very friendly staff. Opens at 0630 AM week days so it's a great place to hang before work. Directly across the street from... More

We popped in for lunch and found the café to have some very good attributes: Friendly service, great tomato basil soup, tasty sandwiches (especially the chicken breast) and very convenient free parking. However, the floors of the two restrooms were filthy and showed a lack of attention. The response to my comment was that the kitchen staff tracked in the... More

My wife and I loved this place. She discovered it with a friend the day before, and we ate there the next day. Right accross the street from the Hyatt place, which does serve breakfast, if you're a guest, but not what you would call a great breakfast. However, the French press has outstanding omlettes and coffee. We both had... More

We visited friends in Lakewood and heard about their favorite breakfast spot called The French Press. Even though we were there on a Saturday and Sunday, we didn't have long to wait before being seated. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Portions are pretty big, so plan accordingly. Our friend always orders the shrimp and grits, and they... More

I thought I'd just pop in to the "French Press" and get a quick latte- only to realize the place is a full cafe - and putting in a coffee order was a process. One barista - slowly plodding along - and when she finally delivered, she seemed lethargic and in no way worried that I had waited 10 minutes.... More

My adult son and I went for breakfast on a Saturday at 8:30 in the morning. The place was packed. We found two stools at the bar. I had the Bennie. Eggs Benedict with ham and avacado. Far too much ham. My son had the corned beef hash which he loved and topped it off with a raspberry cream cheese... More

I like the salmon breakfast begal. My kid likes the creaps with Nutella on it. I've had a few different breakfast dishes and all good. I've ate here like 10 to 15 times and never had bad service. Service is usually above average to excellent every time. I like the vanilla latte's here as well. The only thing is on... More
