After traveling 3 1/2 hours on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, after viewing some of the most beautiful scenery you've ever seen, my wife and I arrived in Silverton prepared for a 2 1/2-hour layover before boarding the train for the return trip to Durango. What to do? This historic old mining town has only 500 year-round residents.... More

We had lunch in Silverton. This restaurant was recommended by a local. My wife and I each had sandwiches, which were good. I had a Ruben and soup. Both were good. Would definitely return if we venture back to Silverton.

Just cause you work at a place called the Brown Bear Cafe, doesn't mean u have to be a BEAR!! Service was horrible....... My son and I rode my Harley my daughter in law and grandkids followed. Went to lunch at this place and couldn't have asked for any worst treatment. Here we are paying for a over rated meal... More

We went to Silverton on the Durango & Silverton train and stayed overnight. We ate here for a quick dinner and came back for breakfast because we enjoyed it so much. The food was good both times and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the large variety of choices on the menu. We also enjoyed all the Halloween decorations... More

Stopped in here for some lunch. Hubby had a burger and I had the French onion soup. Best French onion soup I have ever had. Hubby said burger was good as well. We sat at the antique bar. Good food and great service.

Great place for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Great service and food. The back bar is spectacular! They always have a breakfast special and the portions are good sized. In fall, they have a collection of fall and holloween quilts that I've been wanting to buy for years--they're not for sale!

We visited Brown Bear Cafe while waiting for our train to depart. Our food was great and Misha was very friendly and efficient. The interior of the restaurant was quite interesting in a nostalgic way and the Halloween decorations were very festive. We enjoyed our visit!

After figuring out the top 3 rated were closed...we came here. 130...pretty busy but got seated right away. I had Reuben..it was great. Came with fries or salad. Side salad was huge. Chicken sandwich delicious too. Very cool old bar and good ambience. Friendly and fast service!

We dropped in for lunch when we got off the train from Durango. The staff was warm & friendly. Service was excellent, even though it was crowded with train tourists. Food was great.

Great spot for lunch between the train arrival from Durango and return trip by bus. The special of the Turkey & Cheese Croissant with fries was delicious. The hand-formed burger was quality meat. Service was very slow. They are overwhelmed when a train of 300-400 people arrive around the noon hour. May be better to eat later like 1:30 pm... More
