The food was actually pretty good but the service was poor. Our server (and the others we observed) seemed easily overwhelmed and didn't write down orders. It was no surprise that there was a service blunder and/or forgotten item at literally every interaction..from the chips and salsa, to the side of mayonnaise, the refills on soda and beer. The icing... More

I love this place and try to eat here when we travel in the area! The Mexi-Tossed Salad is a personal favorite with lime-cilantro vinaigrette dressing. The atmosphere is casual. Will continue to go there whenever I can! Highly recommended.

I actually worked at the Cantina for 8 years in the 70's. It hasn't changed much and is still one of my favorite restaurants. The food is good, it has the flavor of "old time Steamboat", and I like the atmosphere. It also has a great separate bar area for Happy Hour and Apres Ski time!! It is worth a... More

This place has really good food. The guacamole and fajitas are fantastic. Their margaritas are also good. The service was good and we were quickly taken care of during our dinner.

No visit to Steamboat is complete without a stop here. Great food, great service - one of our favorite places. Love the salsa and guacamole! Haven't had anything on the menu I won't recommend.

If you want to drop in, have a drink (or two) and order some honest Mexican food at the bar or in the sitting area, this is a very good pick. The bar lady was friendly, fun and knowledgable. I came on my own and wanted to read the paper and do some mails - the place was perfect for... More

Ate here for lunch. Ordered the taco/enchilada lunch combo. It was very average American-Mexican fare and not very cheap. I'd recommend skipping this spot in lieu of better options around town. I have better, cheaper Mexican restaurants back home!

Nothing special or interesting. Service was overall good but the pet names of honey, babe, and dear used to communicate was rather annoying. Most disappointing was the tamale. I really expected to get an authentic one. Not a tamale like tortilla. Expensive for what you get. My son called it when he said he could go to taco bell and... More

Food was less than average. Service was the same. A highlight was having a local beer on tap. I had the chili relleno with ground beef with refried beans and rice. I don't think I've ever experienced tasteless refried beans before, but the rice as the same. On the flip side, the relleno was almost impossible to eat as it... More
