This was by far our favorite place in Telluride! We had carne asida burritos and enchiladas and both were absolutely delicious!!! Wish I could have this food catered to Texas!!

This is a small diner-type restaurant where you order food up at the counter. So it's casual and a lot of fun. It's popular, so there's sometimes a line, but the service goes quickly so give it a chance even if it seems crowded. I love the "green rice" that they serve, the enchiladas are divine, and the margaritas are... More

Authentic Mexican food. The woman who took our order was a little on the inpatient side, like she has dealt with one too many tourists, but the food was delivered quickly and was excellent. The coating of the chili rellenos was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside...perfect. The restaurant is cozy, with friendly folks, and a nice... More

While walking by we looked at the menu and saw they had chilaquiles. I thought about them for 3 days and had to have some. I ordered the green and red combo, which came with beans and home fries. My friends had the tacos and they enjoyed them. There is a chip and salsa bar with 4 kinds of salsa... More

Not a ton of really dog friendly spots in telluride, but this place was. Order inside at the counter, they bring food out to you. Grab a seat, enjoy the people watching, and eat hot Mexican food. The tamale was good, and salsa was very fresh. Busy spot at lunch time. Serves beer and (weak) margaritas. Def a good spot... More

This is one of the only restaurants listed "gluten friendly" that actually seemed OK for celiacs. The vegetables side was amazing (zucchini, onion, cauliflower), as were the chips and salsa. The enchilada was not that great, but my husband thought the pork tacos were the best of the three flavours offered

You have to try this affordable, delicious food. But most of all- don't miss the home made ice cream!

We were in town for a get-away weekend with a few thirty-somethings and a few kids and this place fit the bill. Great tacos, chips. Pitchers of margaritas were reasonably priced and tasty. We went on a Friday night in the shoulder season and had no problem getting a table for 10. I would definitely recommend the chile relleno as... More

I was recently here with a friend and then again with my husband. You grab your own silverware, chips and salsa (unlimited), and water, then sit down. The tables, especially outside, need to be wiped down more often. On one trip, they were all dirty -- my only complaint. The chicken flautas were excellent, although the guacamole needed some spice... More

Very thoughtful, thorough and fair review . Thank you so much, I will work on getting my employees to clean the outside tables more often. I also noticed that the other day and mentioned it to my staff who generally do a good job of that. More

On my first visit to La Cocina de Luz several years ago, I asked about 5 locals where the best place to eat with great food but not too pricey. It was unanimous. I have eaten there many times since and it's amazing! You won't be disappointed Also, I eat vegetarian and the options are plentiful!!
