We have been dining at Terra Bistro almost every time we have come to Vail in the past 5-6 years. I am vegetarian and my husband is not, and they have had wonderful vegetarian appetizers and Entrees for me over the years. Finding a restaurant...with great food to accommodate both of our diets is important and this place has provided us each with wonderful meals over the years. This week........that all changed! The menu was nothing at all like the menu they had listed on their website. They had NO designated vegetarian Entrees! Instead, they had two of their meat dishes that they could take off the meat and make them vegetarian. The appetizers were also not wonderful. We tried the Caulini and it was so heavily smoke flavored that none of us could eat it. Our Server, Iliyan, came and ask how we liked it, and when we told him that it was to smoke flavored to eat it - he took it away and basically ignored us the rest of the evening. Even our waters were not refilled the whole evening! The Tagliatelle dish that they made vegetarian was not enjoyable at all. The dried fruit in it fought with the savory flavors in the dish, creating a culinary battle that was anything but enjoyable! The Brussels were way to sweet, and the Risotto miserable lacked in any flavor at all. We did enjoy the Vitality Greens and the dressing that came with it. Delicious and full of delightful flavors. Our server (Iliyan) came back some time later and whisked our half eaten plates away without even asking us if we wanted take home boxes! He brought back dessert menus, but at this point I was far to irritated to order anything else! I fear that no one in our party has any desire to return. We have been dining at TerraBistro on and off for many years. Consistently high quality food and service. We had an early reservation so we got to the bar during Happy Hour. Creative bar tenders serving inventive cocktails mostly made with spirits from local or...Colorado distillers. Strong menu and specials that avoided "the usual" dishes that too many restaurants all serve. Our daughter is allergic to dairy products. Our server took extra care to check with the kitchen so that she knew what was safe to order. Highly recommended.More

Look no further in the appetizer section. These two were perfectly executed. The Parmesan gnocchi with the miso-date butter was outstanding. Followed that with a stronger, bolder dish as the Ahi Poke with sesame siracha dressing and yuzu aioli and you have your taste buds...recruited for excitement. Then we order the honey BBQ glazed salmon which was cooked perfectly. However, as a side we ordered the Fontina risotto. This last one was not of our liking (I wouldn't even called it risotto). However, we talked to the waitress and she welcomed our opinion, did not charge us for the risotto, and offered us complimentary au gratin potatoes. Service was excellent.More

We took our teenage daughters for a fabulous meal at Terra Bistro. We shared multiple appetizers because we could not choose. Stand out app was the fried goat cheese. The best warm cookie dessert we have ever eaten. A little pricey but its Vail.

Haven't been to Terra Bistro for a while, had a great Thanksgiving dinner there one year. We went for an early dinner (recommended) and really enjoyed it. We had an amazing appetizer; baked ricotta with lamb sausage and apricot jam. It may sound weird, but...spread on warm garlic bread and you're gonna close your eyes and purr. The one downside was my wife's drink (Last Run?), It was horrible, but replaced with a pretty good lemon drop martini. We remembered a better drink menu, but that was year's ago. If they upgrade their specialty drinks, I would definitely give them one more star. Either way, Terra Bistro is highly recommended for dinner. Have a Four Roses on the rocks with a couple of Luxardo cherries, you can't go wrong.More

This restaurant is over priced with OK food that tries too hard. Starting with the appetizers — fried goat cheese, thick fried balls with cheese inside surrounded with syrupy sweet dried fruit and sauce and too few shaved Brussels sprouts. $20 tuna poke ‘tots’ sounds...fun but for $20 disappointing. A poke mix of tuna and something else not sure what, with a lot of sauces and fried squares of rice. Side of caullini, a beautiful delicate vegetable, was so over grilled it almost tasted burnt, could have used some olive oil and seasoning. The entrees were mixed. My son enjoyed the beef noodle bowl and the sauce and mushrooms were nicely flavored. The $36 cod for about 3 oz of fish was not great. When you read it’s served over white beans with white wine and onions you think of a rich multi layered sauce. This was flat, with blobs os sickly sweet apricots, not ‘bacon’ flavored as described, and not sophisticated or good simple food. Should be one or the other. Service was very friendly and attentive. Decided to skip dessert.More

We enjoyed a nice dinner here on Monday. Tony (Maitre d ?) was helpful in setting up a nice window table, and regularly came back to check if everything was meeting our expectations. Eddie, our server was excellent too. We enjoyed Salmon Tartare starter.... then...short ribs and lamb for mains. It was great to see a selection of vegetables on the plate, rather than having to order side dishes. Not expensive for Vail. Recommended!More
