We visited during Covid so opted to eat outside in the crystal cabins. We loved the experience. It was very warm and Comfie (we had worn layers thinking we would get cold). The good and the service was top notch. Would love to go back.
Been visiting the Vail Valley for 25+ years without a visit to LaTour - last week was our first time and it did not disappoint! (HINT: MAKE A RESERVATION)
Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess, (Covid friendly) then quickly escorted to our...table where our waitress served us professionally and with a smile.
The restaurant was busy but not packed (due to Covid). Style of dress was upscale casual and there were very cool outside 'crystal' huts for those wishing to brave the cold or experience something different.
The menu had something for everyone. Great wine/beer/cocktail list. One of us had the duck, another had a panko covered chicken dish and I had the Dover Sole...each was outstanding, especially the Dover Sole! (My teenage son tried escargot for the first time and loved them - go figure!). The French onion soup was the best I'ver ever had. There really isn't a negative to mention...even the bathroom was clean.
The prices seemed fair, especially for French cooking and being in the heart if Vail village.
We will be back!More
Reserved an outdoor table and when we arrived we were told the cost would be $400 to eat in the tent . Had not been told that previously. If we cancelled, it would cost $100, $50 per person for cancellation day of. She did drop...the fee to rent the tent. I ordered asparagus in place of brussel sprouts and was charged $11. The gal said she would not charge us the $400. Must say food was very good .More
This is the worst restaurant I have been for multiple reasons:
First the food was so expensive for the littlest portions
The service was terrible and the mansamente was so rude to us
The worst reason was when I was at desert and ordered a...desert but I asked if they could take out the pistachio ice cream because I have a deadly allergy but they brought but I told them if the could replace it again but when the plate was back I realized the put pistachios in the vanilla ice cream so they could give me the allergic reaction
Never going there again
Please don’t go!More
We had an amazing time. Of course on New Year’s Eve tables were tight but my wife scored a table. The staff was amazing. We were upgraded to a beautiful greenhouse table. The food was great, but the service was amazing. Out waiter Luciano was...attentive but not intrusive and the Sommellier “Tygo” suggested some great wines. The food was great and for Nrw Year’s Eve set memo amazing. We will back next time we’re in Vail.More
The food is very good. Our server, Vuk, completely personable and helpful. Wine list, quite good and not ridiculously over priced. The “igloo” on the other hand is.
That said, the “no shows” on the serving side could have easily pushed this review to 2,...but the kids pasta (double order) were enough for me to have to find out what bucatini is (think delicious spaghetti according to my kids) and the steak and fish kept this review to a 4.
We will be back soon as the food and wine are very good, but not again if we experience the same challenges.More
We had a phenomenal experience here at Christmas time when Covid was at its peak. We were able to eat in one of the individual tents which was perfect since we were isolated from the other diners and our 18 month old didn’t ruin anyone...else’s dinner. The temperature was perfect since they were heated, and the food was great. Service was also pretty great since they tried to limit their visits within the tent to keep the temperature warm. We ate dinner when it was 10 degrees outside.More
La Tour was an absolutely FABULOUS drinking and dining experience! We started with White Walker cocktails and French onion soup- both were AMAZING! We chose the Dover sole and the black bass for our entrees, which were equally delicious. Toygo was a fantastic guide through...the menu and overall experience. Steven knocked it out of the park doing double duty as both our bartender and our server. We ate here twice in 1 week and had the best time. Do yourself a favor and try the pistachio cheescake!More
Overall, pretty good, once you get used to Vail prices and French restaurant type serving sizes.
We started off with oysters, which were exceptionally fresh tasting, large and juicy. We ordered the East Coast oysters, NOT the premium West Coast oysters.
I had the salmon...(order it medium rare), my wife had Dover sole and our daughter had black cod. All the fish was good. Her boyfriend had the duck, which was also very tasty.More
Luciano was our waiter and he was AMAZING!!! Because several of the restaurants were closed while we were in Vail for 16 days, we ate at La Tour at least seven times and Luciano after the second time remembered all our preferences. The food was...consistently the best in the Vail/Edwards area. Caqn't wait to go back!More
