We have been to the Empire in Bethel location and enjoyed it. When we saw the restaurant in Danbury on main st with the same name we decided to try it. Typical old downtown Danbury building and restaurant with an outdated atmosphere BUT.. The food was really good. We love the potato balls that are something like "papas rellanos", when... More

Never have had Peruvian food before, so asked the waiter for recommendations. He said to have the first steal dish listed and this seafood rice dish because 'seafood is their specialty'. We got a garlic shrimp appetizer which was amazing, would get that again. The beef? Where do I start. Absolute zero flavor to the beef or onions or peppers... More

Found this place while driving around. Didn't seem much from the outside but the food is absolutely amazing. The green sauce is as good as the other reviews indicate. We had the pollo fried rice and the pollo spaghetti. Both are really delicious. Definitely coming back.

A busy eatery, and popular with patrons of S. American/Hispanic descent, which is usually a good sign, our visit was less than stellar. The wait staff is wonderful, attentive, willing to answer any question and helpful in making sure you know what it is you are ordering...the menu clearly states all the ingredients and describes the flavor profile...so that you... I don't know anything about Peruvian food. My wife and I ordered ceviche, which was exceptionally good. On that basis alone I would go back. But the cooked meal I ordered was just kind of average, a fish in a sauce. Not memorable, or particularly tasty...not bad, just kind of blah. The salad was fresh. I would be happy to... More

I have been a patron for years now and its always satisfying eating here. I'm a fan of the ceviche de pescado and Pecante de mariscos. Also, Christian makes a mean Mojito. Will always be a loyal patron.

Friendly service from Danny. Try the Tilapia Tropical, consisting of fried tilapia & grilled shrimps with a salsa of avocado, tomatoes, red peppers, & cilantro served with white rice. Very tasty and generous portion. Hubs had small plate of yummy grilled shrimp and OK fried plantains, whose accompanying green sauce proved too hot, so Danny provided a marinara sauce which... More

I have eaten here several times with various sized groups. They have done a good job when I was by myself or as a group of 4. The food has been consistently good . Their spicy green sauce is good, but you have to ask for it. I had gotten use to SoCal where Peruvian places provide it with every... More

I've been driving by this place for quite some time and decided to finally try it. All I can say is wow!! Its not fancy and the food is simple, basic but done really well. We started with their fish chips with yucca fries. The fish chips are basically chunks of breaded and fried white fish which are light, airy... More

Don't remember how we ended up the first time here, but we keep coming back. The ambiance isn't much. The food must be the pull. The menu is vast - but we keep starting with the ceviche. We haven't ventured beyond that for the appetizer as it hits the spot. The only advice I can give is that if you... More

This restaurant features fine Peruvian cuisine. It is located in a very small strip mall. I feel it deserves to be listed: we enjoyed eating there very much, and I will write a review once you list this restaurant.
