We came close to closing but owner said to come ahead . We tried, veal cutlet, pork chop, and goulash with cabbage rolls for appetizers. All were large portions, well seasoned and fabulous!

I met a business associate here for lunch as I hadn't been here for many years. It was quiet and the owner waited on us. I had the meatloaf and my friend a vegetarian dish. Both were excellent and had plenty of food.

We'd heard about the Goulash Place for a while now and we were happy we were finally able to visit! I'm so mad we didn't go to this restaurant sooner! It's a small family run restaurant in kind of a hidden area. Such a hidden gem! The food was delicious and authentic! My family is Hungarian so I've been eating... More

Went here on a week night. Have read about Goulash Place before. It's been on my "to try" list for a while. Found it with no trouble. Parked on the street along side restaurant. Small inside, but had no trouble getting a table. Friendly service. Good beer (German, Czech) - Pilsners. We had Hungarian Goulash and Beef Goulash. Both were... More

I travel to Danbury several times a year for business and tended to go to the same restaurants each visit. A few years ago I decided to expand my horizons and did some online searching for something more interesting. As someone of Hungarian descent, I grew up eating my grandma's homemade stuffed cabbage, chicken paprikas, and goulash. So imagine my... More

This out of the way restaurant is nestled in a residential neighborhood, but is definitely worth seeking out. This place is run by a Hungarian couple who dole out delicious old country food. The stuffed cabbage is wonderful, and there are three kinds of goulash on the menu. Prices are reasonable, making this a great value.

We returned from Budapest last month, and wanted to experience the delicious cuisine again! The Goulash Place is a bit off-the-beaten-path in the heart of Danbury, but has great food reviews. The place is simple and we felt we had entered a time-warp with the 60's era tables and chairs, flooring, checkered tablecloths, etc. Although it was 6:30 pm on... More

Delicious stuffed cabbage, lamb goulash (not on menu)! Excellent value for money. Just like your Hungarian grandma would make!

Amidst the pizza parlors, fast food places and Asian food it is nice to find something a little different. The food is Hungarian, tasty and ample at a fair price. In addition to the main dish, there is a salad bar with ample choice of fresh veggies and dressings. Desserts are excellent especially the sweet pancakes. Would definitely recommend.
