On pricey Greenwich Avenue, Putnam Restaurant is an isolated unpretentious, straight-forward diner with a reasonably priced menu and decent food. I enjoyed the carne asada - essentially a flank steak - with rice, beans, and guacamole.

I recently ate at The Putnam Restaurant. My salad with grilled shrimp was excellent and had a generous number of the delicious shrimps. I have eaten here many other times as well. It never disappoints.

Like the title says, this is a good place to eat, it is priced very reasonably, and the staff is very friendly. The portions are large, you will not leave hungry.
The food is really good, but service is slow (some may like that) as it is a family restaurant (i.e. a diner) so I cut it some slack. It is on the "Ave" Greenwich Ave to those unfamiliar so the shopping is an equitable trade...More
