I really wanted to give this Tapas and Wine Bar five stars, but four is maybe stretching it a little--but it's better than three stars. The service is interesting. We had a server who introduced himself, and then seemed to only occasionally visit our table....More

I've been to Barcelona at least 20 times in the past 8 years, and it's always consistent. The vibe is sleeker than most restaurants in New Haven, and it's a great date spot or place when you're feeling a bit fancier (but not stuffily so)....More

Our first restaurant during our September trip. Very good service, a bit loud but a moment to remember. Tapas were excellent and generously served.

The first time we happened into Barcelona Wine Bar was the night of the Harvard–Yale game. No, we didn't think about that beforehand. No, we didn't have a reservation. We were seated promptly and had a delightful meal, with thoroughly professional and attentive service. We...More

Ok, so we went on a Friday night in a college town! It was noisy to the point of not being able to hear my dinner companions and my throat hurt from yelling the whole time. That said, the food was very good, though a...More

Ambiance great for dates or a chill night with the girls / guys. My adult children and husband brought me here for dinner for my birthday. We went to see a movie first and got there pretty late so we missed dinner. But the kitchen...More

Visited with some friends a few months ago to have evening drinks. They have a wide-ranging Tapas menu, which was just perfect with the drinks. Have also had company dinners here in the past. Food preparation has always been quite good.

The paella was nothing to do with a real spanish style paella. The bbq beef was no tender at all. A pitch os sangría, very expensive, $30, and it just had a poor wine quiality and lemon juice. Terribel. Si usted busca un lugar conde...More

I always enjoy going to Barcelona restaurant. The food never ceases to amaze me and the ambiance is nice as well. Once in a while you will get an average tapa but not very often. Also it can be crowded.

Not as far as I know. From what I saw, I would very much doubt that the kitchen is kosher. Call them and ask.

Barcelona New Haven opened in 2006 and is our largest restaurant in CT. Winner of the New Haven Advocate's "Best New Restaurant" and "Best Wine List," Barcelona is located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven just steps from Yale University. Here we have combined some of our favorite elements in a single location. A street level lounge overlooks a dining bar area with a stone fireplace. The sophisticated glass-and-steel dining room is framed by a 2000-bottle refrigerated wine cellar. The dramatic 80-seat private room is dominated by a larger than life, wall to wall, 30-foot mural of a Spanish bullfighter, and a 20-person chef's table, fashioned from a single walnut tree, borders the busy open kitchen.
