We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. Friendly and prompt service. We didn't care for the pizza, we are just not fans of the darker crust. Plus they put huge chucks of pineapple on it and that made it hard to eat. The side salad was impressive and very good.

I love their pizza with the works. The best pizza ever. I love going there. They have a wonderful salad too. I recommend this place for all my friends.

They have the best pizza around. I go there whenever I have a chance. I always order the pizza with the works. Amazing. Their servers are always friendly. I recommend this place for everyone who loves pizza or salad or other things related.

Salerno's is somewhere we go periodically, either for a pizza or a pasta entree. It has never disappointed in either category. This time one of us had a white pizza with spinach and meatball, the other spaghetti and meat sauce, a half portion, and we shared a house salad. The pizza had way too much spinach, but otherwise was great;... More

I'm an outlier. I think the tomato pie is average. Love most of the others though so I'm a big fan. It's a time machine type of joint. See for yourself!

The plum tomato pie has been a bucket list thing for me. Arrived very early (5pm) and barely beat the line! We scored a great booth in a little corner- the atmosphere & decoration brought me back to the Bronx! The house salad was simple but fresh. There was complementary hot focacchia. I didn' t understand the pasta fagiole-it was... More

The annual pilgrimage to Salerno's for their seasonal plum tomato pizzas is on. If you like fresh and juicy plum tomatoes, pesto and Italian cheeses, these pies won't disappoint. Always a hit with our family. Don't wait too long, the season only lasts 3-4 weeks.

Just had a fantastic dinner with friends at Salernos. The Pasta Carbonara was delicious- best I've ever had! Everyone of my friends raved about their meals also. Great atmosphere; just like I remember from the old neighborhood. Wonderful food and even better service.

Thank David B

Established in 1947Salerno's first opened it's doors in May, 1947 in the Southend of Bridgeport. The war was over and the G.I.s brought back a taste for pizza. Billy and Tina worked hard to get their little place going. In 1954, the pizzeria was moved to the East End of Bridgeport and renamed The C&C Pizzeria. There, the business flourished and it was decided to introduce our family's recipes along with the pizza and grinders. An opportunity opened in 1970 to open a pizzeria in the Cutrufello Building in Stratford, CT. The family decided to rename the pizzeria. Salerno's Apizza has been in the same location ever since. Today, Salerno's in Stratford serves not only the original pizza it first served in 1947....but, a selection of homemade (from scratch) pastas and sauces, specialty dishes and offers a dining room seating 70. The decor is retro 1940s and the music is Doo-Wop. Salerno's also accepts phone- in orders for pick-up. All of our recipes are available as catering trays. Bring the family!
