Places like this are why I really appreciate review sites like Trip Advisor. Poking around flea markets and antique stores, we were in Torrington around lunch time. Always up for a good deli, I found Carbones and the many excellent reviews. It's tucked away in a residential area and we would never have come across it otherwise. So many grinder... More

I always have a problem picking a sandwich from the list. But, the sandwiches are big. I usually take them apart and make another sandwich at home with the extra meat. So, the sandwiches are big. Good bread. Good fix'ns on it. The store itself is kinda a mess. Could use a cleaning up. It's been around for a while... More

Yum! Carbones is so classic...love their giant grinders but also love their house-made sausage. Great little deli and grocery store...a hidden gem of Torrington

I don't understand why the locals buzz so much about this place. I've never found their subs to be that great. Not sure if it's the quality or the fact that they put so much meat on the roll that it's almost a little gross. I used to like their seafood salad, but the last time I went it was... More

Been making the best grinders in town for many years. Great Value for the dollar. Fridays they have a Steak sandwich to die for.

Carbone's ,it seems, has been in business since the beginning of time. Everything is wonderful there, from the daily specials to the giant grinders. Best way to order a grinder is to get an extra roll and you can easily make two out of one. The corned beef grinder on St. Patricks day have to be ordered in advance and... More

Just recently stopped at Carbones for a Roast beef sandwich, after not having one for about a year. I realized these are the most amazing sandwiches anywhere. keep up the good work

If you haven't had a grinder (sub, hoagie) from Carbone's you are in for a treat. There's enough meat on their sandwiches for more than one meal. Whenever our son comes back to town from Colorado, Carbone's is always on his list of things to do. Note: This is pretty much a "take out" place.

For years Carbone's has been the grinder spot in Torrington. Somethings never change thank goodness. The sandwiches are ENORMOUS. Be very conservative when you order. Each mountain of delicousness gets POUNDS of meat piled high. You WILL have leftovers. But its not just the size of the sandwich - its that it tastes like a perfect blend of meats, spices,... More
