My husband and I have been there many times for lunch and dinner and have even stayed overnight and have never been disappointed in the quality of food or service. We bring family and friends and everyone just loves not only the food but the...More

This tavern is located in the basement of the Curtis House. Local is the word. Don't be surprised if a local farmer shows up in his mucking boots, with fresh muck. This is a very pleasant place for drinks and a quick snack

This is a historic restaurant and Inn, but it is anything but stuffy or high falluting. The food is very American and cooked well. Drinks and dining are reasonable.

A bit apprehensive reading some reviews, we decided to try ourselves. We went here as teenagers back in the fifties and we're pleased to see it was still in operation. From what I remember nothing changed. We had the daily luncheon special which is an...More

Although in a recent review, I said the Curtis House was back, I’d have to retract that statement. While it was on holiday the next day-Monday-this shouldn’t have affected the service we received, or better yet, didn’t receive. We brought some family members with us...More

The Curtis House Inn is the oldest in Connecticut that is still in existence. We have had lunch there twice in the last month and have been very pleased both times. I have had the stuffed sole and the wife had the salmon on our...More

We enjoyed our dinner at Curtis House Inn. The menu is mostly old-fashioned comfort foods, meatloaf, pork chops, pot roast, etc. The portions are sizable, a "personal" pizza could easily be split by two, one pork chop is plenty, etc. Our server was rather loud...More

Some service issues but you don't have to fight the crowds. Home style dishes are the best - shepherds pie, pot roast, turkey dinner. Try the lobster bisque. Parfaits are a good end to dinner.

In over 60 years of dining out, the French Onion Soup here was the best ever! My sauteed calves liver & onions was the most tender ever, and tasteful. Lauretta had tenderloin tips, and we shared Sauteed Escargot. All of our food, including the salads,...More

So reasonably priced with food so fresh, service so friendly! I plan to stop at this restaurant every time I'm in the area.

We had friends stay at this inn and they said it was "just ok" - kind of tired and it is a very old place. We thought the brunch food was pretty good - but just not hot and we were one of the first to arrive on a Sunday... More
