It has been several years since my last visit but not much has changed. The menu is small but continues to offer an eclectic selection of tastes that are well prepared. The scallops with lobster polenta, champagne broth and bacon jam was delightful. The scallops were huge. We also enjoyed the 1861 spicy wings with carmelized onion, garlic, and rosemary... More

The down side is, if you are vegetarian and looking for a meal, your choice is pizza, pizza, or pizza. Having said that however, the pizza was good. Others ordered various options and all stated the food was excellent. The service both at the bar and at the table was outstanding. I would highly recommend this place as a nice... More

I am not an old crabby person but I needed to use my iPhone to see my food. My friends enjoyed their soup, salad and fries. I had the duck. My portion was small and disappointing. I love this place, next time I will choose a different entree. The bees knees martini is great!

This was a very pleasant surprise. Very interesting interior with a pleasant, eager to please wait staff. I'd never had a "lamb burger" which is just what it sounds like and, because I like lamb, so I ordered it. It's served on a toasted bun with grilled tomato, feta cheese and caramelized onions. It was really good but after a... More

Wow, I am so amazed by the wonderful food, cocktails, and service we received at 1861. The wings, scallops, and lamb burger are a must try when visiting! Can't wait to return to this establishment.

Loved it! Cannot praise this restaurant enough! Go on Tuesday and try the tasting menu! The kabobs and eggplant lasagna were my favorites!

Despite the basement location that's a little tricky to find, it's worth the effort. The menu is eclectic and everything we ate was wonderful. The service was perfect. This was a totally unexpectedly pleasant surprise.

I went to this Restaurant two nights ago. I could not have mad a better decision! The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed, but still very modern. We set at the bar and the bartender was fantastic. She not only took great care of us, but was very personable and fun to talk to. We started with the 1861 wings.... More

We are new to the area and eat out frequently. We have found that the bar makes us feel at home and food is creative, delicious, well prepared and presented nicely, specially for the price. The staff has been friendly and has provided excellent service. In addition, they are willing and capable of accommodating special needs such as my gluten... More

I went there just to check it out and found a real treasure. They have the best chicken wings in the area. On Monday nights they have a $15 Burger, Bourbon and Beer special that is incredible. The food is great, their specialty beers are excellent and the bar is very comfortable. The lower seating area is a little dark... More
