This place has been a family favorite for years. We chose this location because the Bear location was sooooo gross. People beware. The carpets are sticky and swishy, I had dried food stuck to my clean plate & fork. The workers don't have a clue. Watched our cook use a spatula on raw chicken then stuck the same spatula into... My kids live out of state but Hibachi is their go-to when they come home. We took four adults, two teenagers, two pre-teens and an 11-month-old baby and were easily accommodated. The cook even told me when he was going to light the onion volcano so I could photograph the baby's reaction from behind him. Early bird is a great... More

We had a nice time celebrating a dual birthday at Hibachi Japanese Steak House. I had the steak and scallop combination with my wife having the same. The food was very good, especially the grilled scallops. The fried rice and vegetables were also very good. However, the steak was some of the worst I ever had......and hopefully ever will. This... This place used to be so nice. Now - not so much. Seated in the sushi bar area, and one person wanted to order off the regular menu. That's never been a problem in the past. This time it was over 45 minutes after the order was placed before that dish came out - which was 30 minutes after the... More

Until recently, I hadn't been to a Teppanyaki-style restaurant since going to the flagship Benihana in NYC in the '80s. I'll never forget the flair of the chef/entertainers who would deftly flip morsels onto the plates (and into the mouths) of the enchanted diners. Everything about the experience was memorable, and naturally, set the bar pretty high. This was the... More

Awesome monday night filet specials, happy hour 7 nights a week, early bird prices, and all you can eat sushi made to order so its not sitting out pre-made. Lovely bartenders, fun chefs, and great service. Highly recommend it.

This review is for the several experiences I've had during Hibachi's Happy Hour at the Bar Only! I have not yet had a formal meal there. One day last week, I picked up some supplies at the Newark Farmers Market. Located in a Strip Mall next to the farmers market, Hibachi is tucked in the center, neatly between "Cannon's Baked... The inside (and the outside) of this place are disgusting! You walk in and literally stick to the floor. It's like glue was place everywhere and just left there. I went with a rather large party and once my entire party was there (they do not seat you until the entire party is there, no matter how large) we had... More

If you are looking for a reason to sit around a Habachi grill with other people staring at one another for almost an hour waiting for a "chef" then this is the place to go. Once the "chef" arrived he confirmed our orders and then began a very tired and poor show. We soon realized he did not bring out... More
