Service was fine, wine was fine, the food . . . oh my, Tiny, tiny portion of fish, overflowing plate of rotini pasta. Grossly overpriced. The chowder was over-salted. My husband's clams overcooked. They "made it right," but I would not go there to eat again. I used to love the Island Hotel. Now I'm over it.

The food at Steamers was better, but the atmosphere was better here. Relaxed, casual, old fashioned, true southern hospitality. The food was fine. Our table had, clams, burger, salads, steak, soups. Nothing remarkable and nothing bad. Just wsh something had stuck out as wonderful.

Wonderful food. Lovely screened-in porch to eat on. Everything was very well prepared. The wait staff was knowledgeable and efficient. Escargot was delicious. Fish piccata was well prepared. This place doesn't disappoint. Go!!

My wife and I were fortunate to dine at eight different venues during our time in Cedar Key....there were no clunkers, but this was hands down our favorite total experience. We were in for dinner. The building is part of the community's history, as are several menu items. It is said that the heart of palm salad was invented here.... More

Our dinner for New Year's Eve was quite a let down along with being way overpriced ($125/couple). Small portions (my wife & I each had three greens beans & two carrots), middle-of-the-road service, etc. Definitely could not recommend to anyone.

NYE dinner (at $125.00 per couple) was terrible. Tiny portions, mediocre service, and way over priced. We'll never go back. Sure hope the Island Room at Cedar Cove reopens soon !!

The Island Hotel Restaurant fed me the best meal of my 10-day road-trip. Casual atmosphere in an historic old space, friendly service (Dawn is a hoot), and fresh-baked rolls. My fish-scallop combo was perfect. The crab bisque at the next table smelled alluring; next time.

Seafood Elizabeth was superb - baked scallops and shrimp. We chose to eat on the screened porch from which we could view the cottaged bedecked with Christmas lights.

We had a great Christmas Dinner. I had the Seafood Elizabeth (crap cake on top of shrimp & scallops) very tasty. Had to ask what one dish was Pear casserole it tasted ok just too sweet for me. I also had the tomato bisque very good and plenty of it. My husband had the pork tenderloin with mushrooms he really... More

We had appetizers in the pub - stuffed mushrooms and clams. Both were average and over priced. We stayed for a night in the Hotel - quaint and clean, but a little shabby. Breakfast the next morning was good.
