If you are looking for something a little different, this is a good place. Located just off 39th Ave/222 and 24th Blvd it was an easy stop for lunch going to the airport. Hidden away in quiet condo neighborhood. Prices a tad higher than similar restaurants in Gainesville. French Onion soup done well with thick stringy Mozzarella. Brazilian chopped salad... More

A great place to enjoy dinner after a long day at work. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you take your dinner home or eat it there, you will enjoy a variety of dishes. They have a new menu featuring low fat and low carb choices. So after a long day at work, go sit at the bar, order... More

We eat here about once a month. Nice low light, not too noisy. Food generally very good, but fish tacos ($12) are inconsistent with amount of fish. Gin&Tonic, $7.25. Best best is Monday for Burger and Brew, $10. Good service and neighborhood feel.

Red Onion is always a great place to enjoy friends, food, and drinks. They really did an awesome job celebrating St. Patrick's Day as always. There was an awesome band and traditional Irish food. Thanks to the entire staff for making my St.Patrick's Day one of the best ever!

The best thing on the menu is the Brazilian chopped salad. This time they were out of hearts of palm. They always seem to be out of something. Still best salad in Gainesville. They were pretty empty at lunchtime. Food is adequate. A year ago was terrific

My family and I hadn't been to the Red Onion in a while, so we decided to go there for dinner last Saturday. For once, we didn't have to wait for a table which was nice. We noticed that the menu was different--some new items and at least one favorite (Reuben--please, please bring it back!) was no longer an option.... More

This is my 4th trip there. Since it's close by and I was feeling like a Pub style burger and a beer, I thought I would try again. First the food: I ordered medium well and got medium raw. I asked them to remake a fresh one. I had taken a very small off off that revealed the meat status.... More

Went here on Friday night; got a table in 15 minutes despite being told the wait was 25. Just in time for Happy Hour (ends at 7pm) so we enjoyed house margaritas and wine for $4. Tried fish tacos for the first time. They were hard to hold because the tortillas were too small for the massive chunks of yummy,... More

Terrible place to eat. Never going again. The waitress felt sorry for us because our food was never cooked right after 3 tries!! Then the manager still tried to charge for the salads?! Not sure how the place is still open.

Terrible prime rib. Came to table cold. Full of fat and grisly. Ate what I could . Told waiter that it wasn't acceptable, even said it was the worse I ever had. He did offer to replace, but I did not want to force everyone in our party to wait. Did not want to take chance of receiving another bad... More
