Did the big old family dinner one night over the holidays. Having the two dining rooms separated gives the restaurant a really intimate feel. Amelia's is somehow family friendly and romantic at the same time. It is a little pricey for Gainesville, but you are getting what you pay for. Talented cooks and high quality food and presentation. The service... More

There are no re-heats in this fine establishment. Chef Andy Fass is conscientious and stakes his reputation on fresh, clean cuisine. It is truly a dining experience; certainly not fast food, pre-made entrees. The tables are covered in crisp white linens with accompanying napkins and candles. The owner/Chef cuts his own fish and beef. Nothing is left to chance. The... More

We just took some neighbors who have lived in Gainesville for 40+ years to Amelia's and once again they were great. The waiters are very friendly and knowledgeable, the food and drinks were great and we all had so much it was doggie bag time. Each of the four of us ate something different and all of it was great.... More

This little gem of a restaurant was a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! My daughter and I had her dog so we had reservations to sit outside. The wait staff was incredible, the first thing they did was bring our pooch water and lots of attention (key to our hearts!) The food was incredible! I had the chicken francese over linguini and it was delicious.... More

We had dinner with my family for a UF graduation for my daughter. We were a party of 7, food and service was phenomenal.....! Bruschetta, fried calamari, chicken poso-poso and fresh grouper Napoli were some of the table favorites. Our server was very nice and efficient. Met the owner, greeted us at our arrival nice touch.

On March 24th, my wife and I hosted a rehearsal dinner for 50+ guests at Amelia's and had a wonderful dining experience. The planning was handled very smoothly by Mikayla at Amelia's Private Events and by Andy Fass, the owner/chef. The food was excellent and the dining room staff was very attentive throughout the evening. For the dinner, the appetizers... More

First - we had a hard time finding the restaurant. The address is for the main street but the restaurant is set back behind other buildings that actually front the street. Be prepared to do a little hunting. Next, this is more authentic italian than Olive Garden and Carrabbas. Be prepared... this food is good, inexpensive, service is decent, and... More

Upscale Italian dining in downtown Gainesville. Consistently very good and creative meals. And, the only place I know of where the chef will play a sax for you on your birthday.

We went as a family, after Graduation in Dec. We were all tired, and very hungry. To our delight, the food was excellent, and so was the service. There were ten of us, and all the food came out together and hot, as it should be. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

The food was great, the service was very good, but when we walked in the place appeared to be a bit like your favorite local economical diner with its commercial ceiling tiles. Don't be alarmed - you're like the food. Wine by the bottle reasonablely priced.
