Marlaine's was closed for the season but opened for our tour group for lunch. Excellent sandwiches, soups and chowder. Very friendly, efficient staff and reasonable prices.

I had a roast beef sandwich, didn't want anything heavy and this was a nice pick me up for lunch. Fresh bread, fresh meat, very good. Then I saw they had all these treats out. They make these treats all fresh too. I ate something with their local red berries in it, it was excellent! Then had a chocolate swirl... More

Talk about enjoying some of the best of NF, a homey mom and pop establishment was filled with so many lovely touches. From the view to all the crafts for sale and the most friendly people behind the counter. Easy conversation with natives and tourists alike. And the chowder, some of the best ever. And the house wine ok too!

We were renting a house just down the road and it was raining so we decided to walk across the road and check out Marlaines. Well! CHILI!!!! She makes awesome homemade chili and after that you can dig into some of her homemade desserts! oh ya.

Lovely and intimate cafe. Serves full meals and snacks. Wine and other liquor is available. Wonderful view of the water. Art and local craft is available. I bought a hand made wool hat at a very reasonable price. The owner is very hospitable and warm. We ate there twice because it was delicious!!!

Marlaines Tide Watcher is a small and cozy restaurant nestled in beautiful York Harbour NL. My husband and I had a delightful experience there, with the combination of delicious, homemade food and fantastic friendly service. While there, we met two colorful characters who shared some great stories and insight into the area. Before leaving, we watched a seagulls dive for... More

For starters, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Newfoundland! When we walked in, the café was totally full from a tour bus group, but fortunately they left soon afterwards. We ordered some lunch. I had the soup and my husband had the fisherman's brewis with scrunchions. We each got some desserts, too. Everything is made there... More

Marlaine's was recommended by our B & B as the best place to eat and it certainly didn't disappoint! Right on the water, the view was amazing and so was the food. It was delicious and reasonable!

Go for a hike in the area to suit your ability and desire. When done pop in to Marlaine's. Beautiful deck over the water or sit inside. Simple fare--chowder (the best); crab sandwiches on home made bread--that was the available fare the day we dropped in. Great coffee but you could have a beer also if you wanted. Nic Nacs... More

This cafe is located in Lark Harbour. It offers several items - we enjoyed the bowl of chili and the soup with fresh rolls. There were lots of homemade desserts available as well. The little gift shop has some nice finds as well.
