I have lived here most of my life and never had the Gators experience. It was an experience I could have lived without. The food was way overpriced for the portion they gave you. The food was over cooked, greasy and nasty. I have had better seafood at family fish fries.

Gator's is a seafood restaurant loved by the locals for good reason ,they fry one of the best mullet meals you'll ever have. They also feature catfish Shrimp and oysters. The atmosphere is hometown, and you can often see an alligator on the bayou behind the restaurant. They are back in the woods off state rd 87 and are only open during the summer... We've lived in the area for 3 years and until last night, we were always unable to work out the timing to check out Gators due to the limited hours of operation. We had heard both positive and negative reviews but wanted to check it out anyway. This place has such great POTENTIAL!!! It is a SWEET SPOT for a... More

If you get outside of NW Florida it seems like mullet is just a haircut. I grew up in Santa Rosa county and when I get home I want to get a belly full of fried mullet. Don't go there wanting to order steamed lobster and baked potato. It's a fish house. Get some fish, eat it fried and worry... More

This is a small out of the way place. Will not believe the view. They are only open late, and spring and summer. But very nice place to eat and check it out.

My husband and I visited for a spur-of-the-moment date night on a Friday night. We have been visiting Gators for over 20 years, but we had not been in at least 10 years. I am pleased to say it was as good as I remember and I was so glad we went! The building is the same and appears somewhat... More

We come to Florida often and pass this place but the timing never works out to stop for dinner. If the time s right, the season is not. They are open only June-Sept and when they are open, they are closed Sunday and Monday. It's obviously a locals joint and they serve no alcohol, nor permit you to BYOB. On... More

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who visited there 20 some odd years ago. It hadn't changed ( est 1975) and was well worth the side trip from Pensacola to The Destin area. Unimpressive house /turned restaurant surrounded by majestic oaks overlooking an alligator filled lake. The waitstaff was super friendly and the owner came by to... More

You have to drive 30 minutes to the middle of now where, down a dirt road, worrying about banjo music... You get there, it's a DUMP, and then you find that they don't take credit cards only cash, this after we called and asked if they had their menu posted and if they took reservations, no mention of no Credit...
