Black Hammock is a hidden gem. Known mostly only to locals, its hidden on the banks of alligator infested Lake Jessup on the north side of Oviedo Try the gator tacos! They're awesome!

After sitting at the table for 10 minutes without anyone greeting us, finally had to get some one. The server, Male never got his name, came over. When the food came out it was very cold, and nasty. I will never visit the restaurant again.

Always fun to take out of town guests to Black Hammock to eat, drink and see the large old alligator! Never tire of visiting this restaurant/bar. If you like eating gator, they have that too!

The Black Hammock has a separate bar called the Lazy Gator where food is brought from the Black Hammock restaurant. The music and drinks there were good, but we made a huge mistake ordering the peel and eat shrimp. The 1 lb basket probably contained less than half a pound of mushy, overcooked, limp shrimp that we couldn't eat. They... More

We went here with our book club and all had a fun airboat and then dinner. You can't order the full menu outside so first we had drinks by the water and then dinner inside the main building. We started with the sweet potato fritters which were great. Some of us had the gator tacos which are a must if... More

It's a great place to check out but the restaraunt is just mediocre. Lots of heavily fried foods in the gator bites but it's not terrible. Prices are reasonable and staff was very nice.

You might be coming here after an airboat ride, or weekend entertainment in the waterside bars, and be put off by the external appearance of the restaurant. Truly, it could use a makeover, but the inside is much nicer. It is unfortunately NOT on the water, which would have been very nice. The result is that I have always ordered... More

Good food with reasonable prices. Steak and mushroom sandwich lunch special was delicious. Great fries cooked perfectly. Gator tacos were unique and very good

Wife, friends, and I stopped out, hoping to see some gators (besides the ones in the cages), have a couple of drinks, and eat some food. 15 minutes just to get acknowledged and take our drink order didn't get things off to the best start with our small group. The gator tail sampler was all overcooked, and we as a... More

To be honest we were completely prepared for this to be a tourist trap. We purchased the "Ride and Dine" package and as we approached the restaurant after the ride we thought, "great we've been had" but once inside we were greeted by an absolutely charming and beautiful waitress (Erin) and it just got better from there. When you order... More
