First off, the decor on the outside of the restaurant is beautiful with the soft gray patio furniture amidst accents of wood and floral greenery and strings of ambient lighting, perfect for photos. Once you step inside, you get that trendy vibe, with the wooden tables, a mixture of low and high tops and some booths. The staff is very polite and friendly. The space is somewhat small, or maybe it felt tight because we were seated on the high top right at the entrance by the hostess stand. My group shared the pastry assortment platter, which contained small servings of croissants, marble pound cake, sliced bread, and raisin muffins, accompanied by honey, honey butter, and jam. It was tasty and fun to eat. And then for lunch, I had the quiche with roasted potatoes and a side salad. The quiche was good, but not the best I’ve ever had. It was creamy and set well. I thought the puff pastry could have been flakier. The roasted potatoes were just all right. What I don’t understand about the place is that they do serve burgers and sandwiches, but no fries. I expected maybe steak fries or house chips with a dipping sauce. So I opted for quiche because it made more sense to eat with the limited offerings of sides. The presentation of the plates overall were pretty, and food tends to taste better in my mind when the presentation is on point. I do recommend this place if you prefer trendy eateries, especially if you’re in Pensacola.

What a wonderful surprise! I have been coming to Pensacola about every other month for about 12 years and never have found a place that really suited me. Most of the restaurants are either chains or just not good food. This wasn’t either of those! It was a combination of decadent and laid back while serving generous portions of very flavorful food and drinks by extremely nice wait staff. This place really had it all...hands down. Food: we started with the charcuterie which had a nice selection. Quiche was hot, fluffy and amazing flavor. I had to keep it away from the others at the table so I could finish it. LOL. The Shrimp Louie was presented well and large portioned salad. The French Toast...I don’t know what to say but WOW. Enough to feed the entire table too. If you want to go during brunch, you are going to wait but you can wait in the beautifully decorated patio. I believe I saw a few out there eating as well. If you live here, please go try it because I promise you won’t be disappointed. If your visiting, you should try it because I promise it will compare to one of your favorites in you your town.

My wife and I were able to get an early dinner reserved on Valentine's weekend and had a fantastic time. This was one of our few outings to a restaurant since the pandemic began and we appreciated that all the staff were following all mask and sanitation guidelines. Our server Cornelius was well versed in the menu, entertaining, and patient with us. We enjoyed several of the cocktails offered as well the crispy artichokes and pear & fig spread appetizers both of which we enjoyed. We also ordered the beef carpaccio which was absolutely amazing and we highly recommend. Our entrees were the duck and grouper options which my wife and I loved. The presentation as well as the meal and sides itself were perfect portions. We also enjoyed the Pecan pie and tuxedo dessert. While the meal for the two of us was pricey, it was absolutely worth it and we will definitely return. We cannot wait to check out brunch! We highly recommend George Bistro.

Came in by myself. Asked for extra cream sauce for the pasta and told they would charge me. The pasta was dry and needed more, I wasn’t just asking so I could rub it all over my body. Sometimes by trying to make money off people for your lack of something will actually lose customers. Probably won’t be back because of principle. If the dish is lacking and not up to par and someone asks for more it’s probably best if u don’t tell your servers to charge for it… Not happy about being told I needed to pay for more sauce when it was dry to begin with.

Don’t be fooled by the trendy decor. This place is overpriced with less than mediocre food. The short rib ravioli was completely ruined by the massive amount of balsamic sauce that wasn’t even mentioned in the description of the dish. It did mention the cream sauce that probably would have been good but was overpowered by the balsamic sauce. Did not take more than a few bites and was still charged full price. My husband’s dish was the Alfredo, which how do you screw up Alfredo by the way. It didn’t taste like Alfredo at all, more of a bad stroganoff. Our appetizer was pretty much sliced tomatoes with cold cheese except with no flavor. Don’t waste your time and money here.

My husband and I were in Pensacola for two nights. We wanted to find a casual but nice restaurant for dinner. We found some good reviews for George Bistro +Bar and it was only 6 minutes from our hotel. Don’t go there if you are looking for beach ambiance, but DO GO HERE if you want exceptionally good food, interesting cocktails and excellent service, at a VERY reasonable price for the excellent food and drink offered. What a delightful culinary surprise! Our server, Amy, was exceptional; she impressed me by noticing the small things (taking away the straw covers so they would not blow away); she was attentive without being intrusive; she was knowledgeable about the menu selections; she was delightful. The menu selections were truly haute cuisine in a casual manner. The house specialty cocktails were fascinating (blood orange margarita, chamomile sour). The deserts, pure yummy! My husband and I have traveled to every continent (yes, even Antarctica) and George Bistro + Bar will be a standout culinary memory for us. Too bad we don’t have a requirement to be in Pensacola very often, but when we do, we will ALWAYS eat at George Bistro +Bar.

George's has always provided excellent food at good prices. Post Covid 19, nothing has changed except the waiters wearing masks and sanitizers available. We ordered the avocado power bowl, grilled seasonal vegetables, and a side of fries. The melody of vegetables was excellent and the avocado bowl was quite good too. The service from Brandon was excellent and we will always come back while in Pensacola!

Totally enjoyed our lunch at this clean and trendy restaurant. There were three of us for lunch and everything we ordered was absolutely perfect!!!! The beef carpaccio appetizer was perfectly touched by truffle oil (wish there had been just a tad more on plate) and the short rib hash with fried egg was the best dish I’ve eaten in a long time! Oh I can’t wait to go back. This restaurant is located closer to airport than anything else, so location may prevent me from visiting too often - unfortunately.

Exceptional dining experience in Pensacola - I had dinner last evening @ George’s Bistro. The service was good and the food was exceptional. They offered two off the menu featured specials and I chose the halibut for my dinner. It was large portion of Halibut on top of fresh potatoes with a nice finishing sauce. The meal was exceptional. I would go back for this dish again. Kudos to the Chef for a job well done.

We had a family group event with people coming from all over the United States, NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tampa etc. I was worried whether all these different palates would be happy?! Absolutely exceeded all our expectations, from large varied assortment of cocktails to appetizers (The Beef Tartare, Pear Gorgonzola Tart etc,) to our main courses,( Shrimp grits, Short Rib Raviolis and fresh prepared fish) everyone was thrilled with their entrees. Staff was precise and warm, never assumed we were done and more drinks were offered and after a correct pause a dessert menu was presented. Coconut Cake and Berry Cheese Cake were hits! My only regret is that we do not live in Pensacola to continue to patronize this incredible restaurant. The Mandolini Family

Because of all the excellent restaurants in the Pensacola area I am hesitant to try new ones because I’m anxious to get to my old favorites. A good friend suggested we try George’s and now I have a new favorite restaurant in the area. The chef/ owner worked in New York until family necessity brought him to Pensacola where he opened George’s which turned out to be our good fortune. The food preparation and presentation is superior to any restaurants around with moderate pricing Expect a crowd as the word is out and they have already received several awards I had shrimp and grits with mushrooms and sausage which was the best I’ve ever tasted My wife had lobster roll with truffle fries which was magnificent Friends had fish enters that 5hey loved.

This place is great for casual dining. We bring our children often. (Just an FYI they don't have a kids menu) Our kids don't eat those types of food, so for us it is fine. Our favorite appetizers are the George Fries and the Pear Gorganzala Tart. Truly unique food pairings that are a must have. Just delicious! The steak sandwich is another favorite, as well as the Lobster sandwich. A bit of Maine brought to Florida. It is juicy and flavorful, nestled into buttered split top buns. The service is fantastic! Took one star off due to the spacing and storage issue. If you are wheelchair bound it is a very very tight squeeze to get around the restaurant now. They built these tacky plywood separators and plaved them in between the tables (for covid19) and they took out many tables to make more spacing in between each table as well. Unfortunately, all those tables, mops, buckets, and miscellaneous stuff have been stored in the hallway to the bathroom. Making it nearly impossible to get a wheelchair down the hallway. I had to flag down a staff member to move a bunch of stuff so I could fit my chair into the bathroom.

Stopped at George Bistro + Bar for lunch this week on our way home from Panama City Beach. We were seated immediately and Mitchell appeared to take drink orders and tell us about the day’s lunch specials. If you go, you need to try the Cucumber Basil Martini - it is luscious! I imagine the other house specialty drinks are delicious as well, and we plan to try them on future visits. Hubby started with the special sweet potato soup, which he devoured, then proceeded to eat a lobster roll (yummy) and an avocado power bowl salad. I had the beef carpaccio (absolutely first class) and crispy artichokes (order two - you’re going to want them!). All in all, a terrific experience and one we intend to repeat many times. A special shout-out to Mitchell who was very personable and efficient, but not hovering.

This was our first time trying "George". We were impressed that they had our table ready when we arrived even though we were late and the place was extremely busy. Our server, Amy,was absolutely the best. We had a wonder appetizer recommended by Amy, the tuna tartare, delicious. The main course was not as tasty as the salmon was overcooked and the meat undercooked. We will be back though to give it another try. Thanks for the great service on such a busy night.

We have been going to George’s since it’s downtown location. We could not wait for the secret opening of the new location. We recently visited George’s for lunch twice in the last month. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted with a friendly smile. When we got to our table our server look at us and remembered us. Alexis remembered what we wanted. She asked me if I want an espresso and I did. We ordered the same things we had last time since we enjoyed them. Fried artichokes avocado toast and scallop appetizer. We enjoyed everything we had. Destiny came over to our table to check on us and also remember us. This is what I like about a restaurant that they remember the patrons. Some of the other reviews are misleading. You can never go wrong at George’s. The menu is not trendy but creative. When I was about to leave I saw George. I gave him a handshake and thanked him. He gave cudos to his staff for our enjoyable lunch and visit. We look forward to returning.
