If you are in or near Plant City, go to the old town and cross the railway tracks to the cafe on the corner. Good choice of food at reasonable prices. Obliging staff who readily made suggestions or alterations to menu items. Well worth a visit if in the area antique shop browsing.

We were out for a ride today and ended up in Plant City. We walked around and visited some of the businesses and finally decided to stop for a bite to eat. Like the sign in the place says, If you have reservations, your in the wrong place! Nothing fancy about the place, but it is super clean, the food... More

I have been going to this little place for the past 18 years. Marty and Jerry treat you like family. The menu is simple with homemade soups and sandwiches. The bread is freshly made daily. The sandwiches are filled with all of the goodies. They serve a cherry smash for a nickel with your meal. It even comes in an... More

We enjoyed a lunch at Whistle Stop. It features charming train decor in an old soda fountain-style setting. The restaurant itself is located right next to the train tracks so don't be surprised if your conversation is interrupted by the plaintive sound of a train horn and the loud clatter of the tracks as one rolls through town. The bread... More

We eat there from time to time. The sandwiches have fresh made bread. The cookies are fresh. Nice little cafe.

Been coming here for years and have found this business to be consistent. They are consistently nice, polite, prompt. The food is consistently good including homemade soups and breads.

The bread made here is great.....but that's about it. The electric cords hanging from the wall where children could get hold of them, the bathroom needs a good cleaning, and the help is adequate to say the best. The sandwich was dry. Soda had too much carbonation. Ambiance non-existent. Just not enough good to keep us going there. Does have... More

The Whistle Stop is decent. If you happen to go by during the 13 minutes they seem to be open each day. Part of the problem is the parking. They are right beside the railroad, which definitely is a plus for the atmosphere and charm, but that means you either have to circle around and come down the one-way street... More
