The best thing about Cafe Alcazar is its unique location.Located in the back of the Lightner museum, you are also eating in the deep end of a pool. That's right The Lightner Museum used to be Hotel Alcazar and had the first indoor pool in the country. Well, now you are having lunch inside the empty pool that has been... More

Really solid Turkey and avocado sandwich with good onion soup. The service was attentive and polite. The chairs and environment were interesting. I found it a bit dark and cold. My wife liked it (you're having lunch in a bottom of a huge swimming pool).

Located in the former pool of Flagler's Alcazar hotel, the surroundings of this restaurant are beautiful and the food and service are above average. Prices are reasonable too. It's a must-do for St. Augustine travelers.

We, six of us including grandchildren, had gone for lunch to Cafe Alcazar located inside the Lightner Museum Antique Mall, 25 Granada St., Downtown St. Augustine in Florida. The Cafe is housed on the deep-end of the onetime 'casino swimming pool', constructed in 1889, of the erstwhile Hotel Alcazar, 1887-1930. We had an enjoyable lunch comprising soups, salads, sandwiches, crepes... More

We ate here after visiting the museum, and were surprised that the food was so good! Live music was an unexpected touch which added to the ambiance. However our lunch was disturbed by two young children whose parents allowed them to continually run up and down the steps to the upstairs and down the hall! The floor and steps are... More

I loved dining with my friend in the restaurant in the deep end of the former swimming pool. She had never been in that area of any pool! It was fun, the wait staff was wonderful, but be prepared for a bill of $25+ per person without wine. The food was different and delicious. It was a real treat and... More

Had a hummus platter that was excellent and escargot that actually tasted good (and wasn't overly chewy).

This is a small café located at the back of the Lightner Museum. It is in the shallow end of a huge former swimming pool in a Flagler Hotel. We had a very nice lunch with soup and sandwiches. There was some entertainment but it was not intrusive. The prices are a little expensive but the location and service was... More

The novelty of eating in the swimming pool is more of an attraction than the food. Server failed to mention that the soup of the day was quite spicy, so, was not enjoyable to me.

This cafe is located within the former "pool" at the Lightner Museum. While visiting the museum you may work up an appetite for lunch and will not have far to go.
