Great little find inside of the old swimming pool in what was once the Ponce de Leon hotel. I had a Greek salad, and would order it again. The staff will even give you a little booklet on the history of the place while you wait, and it is surrounded by cute little shops.

We took a trip to visit friends in Jacksonville and went to St. Augustine for the day. Our friends took us to lunch at Café Alcazar. Now a restaurant at the bottom of a pool might sound a little touristy and gimmicky, but that is not the case. Although it is in the bottom of what use to be the... More

I have eaten at many latino restaurants in my time (being of latino origin), but have never tasted food that was so below average by latino standards than this place. I guess it is true what they say you re only good as your next ____ (fill in blank).

Nothing like having lunch is a dried pool! Awesome atmosphere, piano player, nice food. A bit pricey, but hey, it's St Augustine. Very cool history to the place. Also went to a gala there. Nicely done

This is a very special restaurant. Residents love everything about the Cafe Alcazar. Why? Ambience is great...how often can you have lunch in the largest indoor swimming pool built in 1880s, and of course the water is gone, and food is also great. It isn't the typical hyped greasy fried food venue. I happen to like the humus sandwich, if... More

We visited and were impressed with the ambience. Unfortunately , the crepes and shrimp pasta looked and tasted as though it came from the microwave.

We had a delightful lunch at the Cafe Alcazar, accompanied by soft piano music. What a great time. Service was good, food was wonderful. Nice portions, a little limited, buy very nice. To bad they don't offer dinner. The wine list was also very nice. Overall... Wonderful.

Very interesting little cafe to eat at while visiting the Lightner Museum. The cafe is located where the pool once was. Great atmosphere. Loved the stained glass pieces. Not to mention the guitar player who played while we were dining.

This is a lovely place for lunch. Bring your Lightner Museum ticket for a discount. You will be seated within the pool chared by the ladies and gents. Yeah!

You can tell your friends that you, "ate in the deep-end of the pool"! And you will enjoy it. This is the same owner of the Greek Rest. and Diner here in town, and you can tell. The daily specials are enticing and always delicious, and the standard menu is full of great - time tested - dishes. But we... More
