This is most authentic seafood meal I've had in years. The grilled flounder was perfect, served bone in with fins and tail (you can see how much I liked it) accompanied by fried okra in a very light breading. Terri took good care of us, and hats off to Thelma, the cook. I would definitely return.

The Beach Pit offers a traditional BBQ menu along with an abbreviated seafood menu for lunch and dinner and a traditional breakfast menu. We had a BBQ pork plate for dinner that was a generous portion of pork along with some excellent baked beans and mac cheese. Several other sides are available. Price was very reasonable at about $12. I was on the island for a few days and was looking for someplace which served breakfast. This was the only place I saw that did breakfast. I can't speak for their regular menu, but I definitely would not recommend the breakfast. It was pretty poor all around. The service was good though!

The Beach Pit has a good menu of seafood, chicken and barbecue. I ate there 2 times and both times were very good. The first meal was barbecue pork and 1/2 chicken with red potato salad and Brunswick Stew. The only complaint was the hot BBQ sauce was not hot to me. My second visit was a hamburger and French... We had our last breakfast here before leaving St. George Island. When we arrived at 10:30am, the restaurant was full, but cleared out soon after. The service was unacceptably slow however. It probably didn't help that a Sheriff was in the kitchen talking to one of the kitchen staff about something important. I ordered a coffee, biscuits and gravy, and... More

I definitely recommend The Beach Pit. The food is always good and the wait staff are eager to see you have an above average dinning experience.

The service was great and timely. The food was basic breakfast stuff and tastes great. Disappointed that there were not flavored creamer options at an upper scale breakfast spot.
