My wife and I ate here on a Friday night. We arrived around 815 and only had to wait less than five minutes to get a table. We were seated inside, which is fine, but the outside area definitely had more ambience. Service was great, and the food was really good. Definitely a good spot to hit if you're in... More

It's literally "whatever"! The place is so crowded and the kitchen clearly pushes food out in huge quantities sacrificing quality, taste, portion, and presentation for speed. Yet, we still waited forever because our server was too busy with too many tables. So we waited forever to get greeted and equally long to place our order. Then she didn't return once... More

Had dinner here the other night with my wife. Service impeccable. Food even better. Had the red snapper. Amazing. We have eaten here so many times over the past 20 years and never had a bad meal. This is a true treat.

Red Mesa has been around forever and I know why. Everyone I know enjoys this consistently good lunch and dinner spot. Their meals are beautifully plated and a reasonable quantity. Our choices were all fresh and without the excessive salt and fat that some restaurants use to mask boring meals. Chips and salsa were provided, but personally I was happy... More

What better place to have lunch on May 5? Visiting St. Pete on our annual vacation. We always make time for red Mesa Cantina. Some of the best Mexican food you'll ever find. We opened up with the Mofongo and Empanadas. Great drink selection as well!

When I hear southwest food I automatically think spicy. Keeping that thought in mind this place is really decent. There are a couple of items on the menu that are not overly spicy but generally the food is well seasoned which is not for me.

I don't get why this restaurant attracts such big crowds. I found the food to be fairly standard Mexican and the drinks to be over-priced. Service was okay. The patio was jammed, in part due to a pointless fountain in the middle of it. Restrooms were limited in size and not particularly clean. Not a keeper for me.

The restaurant is quaint and dim. The food was good. We ordered the shrimp empanadas as an appetizer. My husband liked his burger. I liked my chicken dish with fresh herbs.

Everyone thinks of a Mexican restaurant as tacos and enchiladas. We forget that Mexico has a lot of coastal areas. Red Mesa does the seafood as the Mexicans do. The salmon is to die for. Such flavors and aromas. It was tender and juicy.
