For being in a hotel in an industrial section of Sarasota, I thought it was better than I anticipated. I'm a healthy eater and sports grills are normally tough because fried food, burgers and fat laden products are the norm. I get tired of having to end up with a salad of some type with chicken, which was the case.... More

The Sporting News Grill is by far the most outstanding bar/grill I have eaten at in quite awhile. The staff that impressed me the most was "Freedom" (during my dinner hours). She was professional, enthusiastic, fun to share a conversation with & by far more attentive than any server I have had in the recent months. Kudos to you Freedom.... More

Trip advisor reviews cautioned me against trying to pasta, but the Burger was very good, with the exception of being a little skimpy on the mushrooms. I really loved the hearty onion rings, breaded and fried. The service was prompt and attentive. No major complaints. In the morning, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and found it very satisfactory for a... More

I have eaten here several times and i prefer the lunch menu although the dinner menu is not bad. The wings are pretty good and the bacon wrapped scallops were very tasty. These are big scallops and not the small ones. The burgers are pretty good and the club wrap is my favorite. The wait staff is polite and will... More

Got in somewhat late and sat at the bar. Had the restaurant's 'signature' burger, which was large and flavorful and cooked exactly to order. For 9:30 pm, it took a little longer than expected to arrive, but it was worth it. Chose the fries, which the bartender accurately described as "like McDonald's". Topped it off with a piece of key... Went there for lunch as there aren't many options on the South East side of the Airport. I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and the French Onion Soup. The Soup was very flavorful and had me scooping out every last drop before I let the server take it away. The salad came out and you could tell the chef took... More

The food in general was awful and expensive - te breakfast buffets was overrun by children - leaving very little food for anyone else.

Pasta was dry and the bread was cold. Service was really good as the waiter was really attentive. Forgot to get his name

18 people from 4 states just trying to have a good family dinner for Christmas. Made a reservation last night. They said they will be doing a buffet and selected items on the menu. Arrived at 5 and hell started then. No buffet. Printed material said they were having a buffet and server said after we were sat down no... More

Beer in frozen mugs NICE (and a great value—20 oz Sam Adams Seasonal for $2.75). The Nachoes platter for $10 was excellent and huge. Carla & MaryAnn really good employees… Veranda right off the pool and bar——good idea.

Description
Located by the airport. Nothing within walking distance, but a short drive to shopping and beaches. The restaurant is located inside the Holiday Inn. The wait staff was very friendly, along with good food and service. The restaurant is very nice; with a number of flat screen tvs. There is a great outdoor area with a great fire pit, lounging area and tables right off the bar. Would go back again.
