My first time to have El Salvadoarian food. Everything was excellent to the taste. Flavorful, fresh and did not disappoint. I would love to come back or find something equally good as this in St Louis!

I love this place. It is inexpensive and has authentic cuisine. They specialize in pupusas which are kind of like arepas. Everything is homemade. I enjoy the chicken and cheese pupusas and the maduras (sweet plaintains). You really do get a lot for your money there and it is run by a mother and daughter team.

I'm so sad to write that I won't return to El Viroleno. Was it horrible? No. Was it a bad experience? No. It just was "blah". The service was so-so. The atmosphere was so-so. Oh......and the food: so-so. I wanted to love it. My husband and I had been to an El Salvadoran restaurant a few years ago in Oklahoma... More

Make sure to order the pupusa an authentic Salvadorian corn tortillas that you pick the fillings for. Plantains are some of the freshest I've ever had. Chips and salsa are great too.

Today was my third visit to this restaurant. Each time the food has been quite good, but the service has been radiculously slow. We had to order by # because the waitress spoke minimal English. It took at least TWENTY MINUTES to get our bill AFTER I asked for it.

So I read a review on my neighborhood board about this and how good it was. We decided to try it. All the reviews were correct, this place is very very good! It's Authentic with great taste. We had Nachos, Papusas and tacos. All I can say is WOW! We will be going back, often!

Gone there several times on Tenn street and now Kerry Forest. The friends I go with make regular trips to Latin America and they say their food is legit. Really love the food, but the service can be a bit slow. Worth the wait.

This restaurant is now in the Kerry Forest Parkway shopping center in the corner between Red Elephant and Beef O'Brady's. It has very simple decorations but it was clean and smelled wonderful. We went in because we saw a dozen or more Mexican men coming out at lunch. I asked "Es delicioso?" (is it delicious) and I got grins and... More

A small restaurant in a strip mall. This seemed to be a new location for them. We were the only table eating while we were there. More customers were coming in when we were leaving. Staff was very unattentive, setting in the back booth talking while we ate our meals. Food portions seemed a little small for the prices but... More

I am from El Salvador and the Pupusas that they serve are great and authentic. There is nothing fancy about the establishment but the food never disappoints. My wife had never had Pupusas before meeting me, but after trying El Viroleno, she keeps wanting to come all the time for their Pupusas, rice and beans. Thank you for the great... More
