We have tried for years to tolerate the slow service and overpriced food (fyi, half the menu is NEVER available)... for a fun place to go eat a snack with the kids that's right on the lake. today was the last straw though with the owner himself tossing a nasty attutude at us (our poor waitress was scared of him,... I've been here many times, but it had been years since my last visit. In the meantime it has been cleaned up, painted and taken on a greatly expanded menu. We didn't try anything but beer and oysters. The cash only policy has to change before I'll try anything else on the menu.

Last Saturday (Jan. 14) was a beautiful day here in Tallahassee - sunny, blue skies, 75 degrees and we were in shorts in January. What better way to spend an afternoon than to take our first foray on the pretty, not-so-new Orchard Pond Parkway (and two canopy roads) to take in a gorgeous view of Lake Jackson and slurp plump... Cash Only! Didn't see the sign and BARELY scraped enough money together for our meals. Small size, VERY casual atmosphere on the screened back porch. Overlooks boat launch on Lake Jackson. Oysters on the half shell were great! Streamed gulf shrimp was also excellent. Blackened catfish was NOT blackened. At all. But was tasty. Smoked Mullet very nice! BBQ Pork... More

Called to find out if they had a certain day of the week for special on oysters...was told they are $6.99 everyday (which is fine) but then he came back with "probably cheapest oysters you will find in the state of Florida and your lucky to even find oysters right now" and then said...quote: we dont give ours food away.... The atmosphere is cool here, Florida pastels and stickers from people who have stopped. It's on the lake which unfortunately is low now. The food is good Smoked and/or steamed pretty tasty. I bet this could be a great weekend blast.

This is not for your typical college crowd. It is off the beaten path and while I have not experienced it personally, I have heard it can get a little rough at night. But really look around...what do you expect. I only stop by on Sunday afternoons. I really can't recommend anything on the menu except the Oysters. Those are... More

This place is an absolute dump and I do not know how they even pass their health inspection. One look at this place had me walking in the other direction. It was so disgusting I wouldn't even eat there. Don't waste the gas.

We went there for a easy dinner about 6 pm on a Sunday night. I had 2 dozen oysters and my wife had one dozen…they were excellent and a decent size. My wife had the seafood gumbo, which she said was delicious, but way to spicy for me. The waitress said she puts a ½ bottle of crystal hot sauce... More
