You can definitely appreciate the history of the place and the decor. Little pricey but I think your paying a bit for the experience.

its Christmas, and not a restaurant was open....well, except one of the best restaurants i've ever had the pleasure to visit!!!! the atmosphere is elegant, the wait staff was maybe the best i've ever experienced, (they were dressed in tux's), we were forced to sit at the bar due to no reservations being available (didn't have to twist my arm:),... In town over night in Tampa and decided to explore Ybor City. What a nice place for dinner. The food was excellent, table side service was entertaining and our service was outstanding. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

The Columbia Restaurant is a must stop if you are visiting Tampa. They have their own twist on Cuban cuisine. If you like meatloaf you have to try their grilled meatloaf sandwich. I wish I had a few photos. There is enough for two.

When our team travels to Tampa we always enjoy dining at Columbia! The service is great! Wine is reasonably priced (have the house Rusty!). They have a nightly Flamingo show also. Be sure to have the house salad, it is the best you will ever have!

Most of my party had a wonderful night at the Columbia. The food was amazing and the flamenco show was very well put together. The only downside of the night was for my friend who had several food allergies. She asked for the plantains to not be served with her meal and the waiter would not substitute another vegetable or... We were in town for the college football playoffs, so the bar was packed with fans. Since we had dinner already, we stopped by the bar for drinks & people watching. We shared a pitcher of freshly made sangria which was out of this world good! I am also a big fan of mojitos & their mojitos looked absolutely delicious... More

What a great place to go for lunch in Ybor. Have to love the history when you walk through the restaurant to the bar. The service at the bar was awesome. My lunch recommendation would be a pitcher of sangria, the Spanish bean soup, and of course the original Cuban sandwich. Finish the experience off with a cafe con leche.... More

Coming from Miami, I'm used to a different style of Cuban food. I was definitely not impressed with this place although it was highly recommended. If you like raw diced onion, you might enjoy the Columbia Restaurant, because they come with most entrees.

The Columbia is a historical part of old town Ybor, and they have kept the traditions alive. We popped in for tapas and decided to stay for the dinner show. We were escorted into a private room, where we enjoyed our tapas, sangria, and a wonderful flamenco show for only an additional $6 per person! The tapas were sufficient for... More

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
