Took my wife out to breakfast while on a recent tripto Tampa. The food and service were great! Fare seems Cuban inspired, the staff was very upbeat and attentive.

My wife and I were visiting Tampa and just had to eat at the Columbia. This restaurant on 7th Avenue takes up one and quarter blocks and can seat up to 1700 dinners. My wife order the Red Snapper "Adelita" and I had the Mahi Mahi "Varadero". Both were excellent. We ordered the "White Chocolate Bread Pudding" to go for... More

This restaurant is an icon in the Tampa area and for good reason. You must go if you are in the area. Every time I go to Tampa on business, I visit this restaurant for a great meal and great service. I am on business so I am usually alone so I sit at the bar which bartenders are wonderful... More

A reservation is a must! The restaurant was packed as we arrived for our monthly class reunion lunch and we were seated right away. The place is loud but that's what we needed, to talk and laugh with our classmates of 45 years planning a great anniversary. Wow!!! What a great menu!!! You can find everything for everyone!! From sandwiches... More

My husband and I visited twice during our resent trip to Tampa and both times we totally enjoyed our dining experience. Food was fresh and extremely good. House dressing is amazing.

Recommend the restaurant in Ybor City. Restaurant graciously and professionally fed our large family group. Good came quickly. Food was well prepared.

The food was average, but, the atmosphere divine. The swordfish was overcooked and dry. The salad mixed at our table was over dressed. Asking the easier for suggestions, he went straight for the most expensive things, with really no expertise for why he was recommending it. A great place to take people to experience the atmosphere, but, average food.

The Columbia is much more that a restaurant-it is an integral part of Ybor City history. The restaurant, over a hundred years old, does not disappoint. From it's luxurious interior to the tuxedo-clad servers, the main attraction is the authentic Cuban cuisine. I had the Snapper a la Rusa, and it was superb. The men is extensive: the famous salad,... There are several lovely, historic rooms in this century-old building. The interior is teeming with character, laden with the Moorish/Spanish/Neoclassic architectural elements one might find in old Havana. The atmosphere is as lovely as the cuisine. If you are visiting Tampa, you must include The Columbia in your plans. Likewise, there are a few dishes not to miss when dining... More

We met up with old friends who now live in the Tampa area while we were on a back-to-back cruise out of Tampa cruise port. They picked us up at the cruise terminal for a Sunday "blunch". The atmosphere was outstanding and the food and sangria were wonderful. What a great way to spend a few hours in Tampa!

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
