This restaurant is known for fresh seafood brought in by local fishermen. Nice variety of sandwiches and seafood dishes. Reasonably priced. The outside dining area is covered. Enjoy watching boats passing by and wildlife. Maybe you'll get lucky to see a dolphin siting. Friendly staff! Overall this is a great place to dine on the water. The place is a... More

I'm used to tiny shrimp... but not here. They are by far the biggest and best shrimp in town. Avoid Friday and Saturday nights because of the crowds. Parking is a little rough too. View of Anclote River is great and outdoor waterside dining is available. Prices are about $20/entree, but worth every penny. Drink specials were $4 for house... More

Right on the water in Tarpon Springs. You can eat indoors or outdoors. Peel your own shrimp appetizer was big, fresh and excellent and serves with both cocktail sauce and drawn butter. With the butter - these shrimp were big enough to taste like mini lobster tails. I had a platter with grilled Mahi, with skewers of shrimp and scallops... More

This is a fun place. The bar outside is very enjoyable. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Just good Florida seafood. Only negative is the lines can get very long at certain times of the week and year.

Three of us had all you could eat shrimp. They were the biggest and tastiest shrimp I have ever eaten on the east coast. Food couldn't get any fresher as the restaurant has their own fleet. Our waitress kept the shrimp coming. She was very nice and had a great positive attitude.

Visiting the Tarpon Springs area once again and love to try all the different restaurant choices (and, believe me, there's a lot!). Heard that Rusty Bellies was a great seafood place so we stopped in for lunch. We had tried to get in a few days prior at dinner time but the wait line was massive. Got a seat right... More

Beautiful view, happy and very attentive staff. They know their menu. Sangria was perfect. Greek salad was the BEST I have ever had. Not your typical salad. Crab legs were done to perfection, and the shrimp, oh my goodness, they were a full feed, excellent! Thank you so much for a great experience. I will be back next year.

This was our first time in Tarpon Springs and we really enjoyed our dinner here. We arrived just before six on a Saturday night and had about a 20 minute wait. There were plenty of areas to wander around however the phone call when our table was ready didn't work. Fortunately we were near by and did not miss our... More

Went with friends. Fresh (blackened) grouper was delicious. Fried oysters were also good. The rest of the family were happy with their salads (one with salmon).

Description
My husband Jack and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, welcome you to Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill. Opened in June of 2005, Rusty Bellies is an achievement of three generations worth of goals spanning some thirty years. We are a family owned and operated establishment. Our family came to Tarpon Springs in the 1970's. My parents, Joe and Sue Reis, began the business by purchasing several boats, including a shrimp boat. Before long they had purchased the boat yard and developed the seafood business. In 1985, Jack and I took over operations, and it wasn't long before Jack began refurbishing boats. In 2002. we launched our shrimp boat, Julie Ann. The Julie Ann produces fresh gulf shrimp for Pelican Point Seafood and Rusty Bellies. Jack has since finished refurbishing the Redman, a grouper fishing boat, and the Crabracadabra, a stone crab boat. To this day the Julie Ann, Redman, and Crabracadabra are still family owned and operated by the Russells. Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill is named for our family's love of fishing, namely gulf grouper fishing. A "Rusty Bellie" is the nickname given to the large male gag grouper. A "Rusty Bellie" generally ranges between twenty and sixty pounds, and is typically caught by the true at heart fisherpersons. As you look around our restaurant you will see photos of family, friends, and local fisherman that bring the freshest seafood to our dock. The menu gives credit to many of our fishermen by naming the dishes after their beloved boats. Of course, there are too many boats to give credit to each, but keep in mind their dedication to providing FRESH FLORIDA WILD CAUGHT SEAFOOD. It is an honor that we continue what our family began many yeas ago. We value our guests, and we are honored to have you dine with us. Please sit back and enjoy the view and allow us to prepare the freshest seafood, including gluten fee options, available for you. Julie and the Russell Family
