We arrived after walking round the castle, hot and hungry we made very welcome with a caraf of cold water and a fan for my mother. The dish of the day was a starter & main course all on one plate. The starter was a fish mouse then a chicken dish. The wine was lovely and we were able to... More

We saw this place on trip adviser and everything that everyone says is true. This is a truly magical restaurant from the moment you step in the door, with amazing service, beautiful food and mouthwatering dishes. Dont miss this restaurant. We would travel all the way back from New Zealand to eat here again!

Here's a dream come true. Hours of hiking through the beautiful countryside, lush forests and ancient, crumbling rock walls near Balazuc and Vogue and stumbling upon the excellent restaurant L'Esperat in the picturesque medieval village of Vogue. The service was warm and welcoming and the food was fresh and lovingly prepared. Wow!

We read the previous reviews on this restaurant and decide to give it a try. We were delighted not only with the food but the service. Our children's dinners arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and they loved their dishes. The menu is not extensive, but everything we ordered was wonderful. Husband wife team was awesome. Highly recommended!

Worth your visit. Serve superb bio-healthy food in a nice ambience with personal attentive service. Top wine selection. Nicely decorated. Pleasant ambience. The little village is attractive for an after dinner/lunch stroll. Beautiful views over the river Ardèche. Highly recommended.

Very good food presented with a touch of class, both in terms of appearance and atmosphere. Add to that a lovely location and a reasonable price for what you get.

The food and service at this little restaurant ranks with the best that we have had in our 6 weeks in France We had lunch of prawns and chirozo starters, duck breast and lamb mains and shared a dessert (cafe gourmand). Our compliments to the chef for his flair, particularly with the vegetables. We can only confirm that this is... More
