Just OK. It's a cute restaurant in a great location in a quaint town, but the food is nothing special. They have some decent sandwiches and typical southern dishes.

The Chop has a reputation for great steak in a small town that has a charming main street for strolling and shopping. We arrived at the busiest time, when all the shops closed for the day. The wait was short, about 15 min, on a lovely bench outside, and the menu was surprisingly extensive. I chose the steak medallions with... More
I was in town visiting a customer and, after a long day of driving, I was hungry. There's plenty of parking behind the restaurant and there is some on the street on the side and front. There is seating outside if that's your thing, plus a bar side and dining room side indoors. I picked a high top in the... More
Good hamburgers - great coleslaw! Fish and chips - standard battered fish and not great chips. Decent menu for other choices though. Nice comfortable place to eat; ate there two days because of proximity to where we were staying. The most enjoyable part were Mary and Christy who worked there- great personalities, friendly, engaging - as well as the other... More
The Chop House was a short walk from where we stayed. The place was full of locals so we knew this would be a place to eat. Greeted and seated quickly. I had catfish and grits while my wife had chopped steak. Peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert. All things southern!
The Chop House has a lot of selections including vegetarian entrees. They have wine and can accommodate groups. The staff is friendly and courteous. We did have a reservation since it was a Sat night of a sold out concert in town. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.
A friend and I ate lunch here last week while doing some shopping. The restaurant has a good location and pleasant atmosphere but not much else to recommend it. First we waited several minutes to be noticed then gave up and seated ourselves. While they had a number of patrons there at the time, the servers were not swamped as... More
The motorcycle chapter has visited here before for lunch. They staff couldn't be more helpful and attentive. We were one of four groups but arrived to find our table set up and ready to go. There were a dozen of us and everybody enjoyed their meals. I had a tuna melt that was excellent. This is nice place for good... More
This is probably the most attended restaurant in the downtown area. Always a crowd, consistent food - really good. They also have bar service.
We've had lunch many times at the Madison Chop House. The food is excellent. There is way more on the plate than I could eat. A great place for groups also. There is a room in the back that is large enough for several groups at once.
