We had lunch at the Hwy 34 location, service was great, the food was great,we had the BBQ sandwich with Cole saw.If you get this ,order the Cole saw on the side,so you can put it on yourself. The fried peach pie with ice cream is delicious. The food is a little pricey at nearly $8 for a sandwich fries, comparing to other places... More

OMG How have they been in business for 91 years. Nastiest meat I've ever tasted. Please retool what you are doing now before it is too late.

I am sorry that your meal was not to your liking. We have been in business for 91 years and the third generation of Sprayberrys is currently running the business every day. We are proud of our heritage. That being said, I have no idea what was "nasty" about your meat. Your server would have been happy to replace it. More

My wife and I stopped at Sprayberry's on our way home from a day trip. Personally, I prefer tomato-based BBQ but their vinegar-based sauce was fine. I liked the fact that the meat on my sandwich was not swimming in sauce. The waitress gave us a small bowl on the side to add as we pleased. My sandwich came with... More

Thank you for your kind words. We know that our barbecue is regional and that everyone has a different taste. Most like the barbecue that they grew up with. Our sauce is vinegar based with tomato and spices. It is thin and tends to mingle with the meat. We hope to see you again soon! More

Visited this restaurant only because there were so many cars in the parking lot. I have no idea why there were so many cars there because the food wasnt good at all. Our waitress was so old she couldn't hear what we were trying to order. My son ordered a kids cheeseburger. Once the food came she made it very... More

We are sorry that your experience at Sprayberry's was not what you expected. Ironically, that waitress that "was so old she couldn't hear" is a favorite with many of our customers. Nan has been here for almost 19 years and is a fixture at Sprayberry's (almost as much as the family), despite being a little slower and hard of hearing.... More

I've been eating at Sprayberry's for over 40 years. Five years ago, It went south and I didn't think it could get any worse. We haven't been since and don't know of anyone who has. Went there over the holidays and wow, what a shocker! The pig must have died of old age and left to rot before anyone got... More

We are so sorry to hear that you didn't care for your barbecue. We DO promise that your meat was fresh and cooked on our pit right outside the restaurant. The sauce is still made by the exact same recipe and with the exact same process that it was made in 1926. Houston Sprayberry, the current owners' grandfather, taught them... More

Our visit was ok. The service was great but we like the smokey flavor Bbq with thick, smoke, sweet, and tangy sauce. If you like a vinegar based thin sauce, this might be your place. My daughter enjoyed the Chilli Cheese Hot Dog.

We are so glad that your service was "great" as well as your daughter's chili cheese dog. We understand that our original, vinegary sauce is not for you, but we do have a mustard sauce which you may like. It is somewhat tangy, but not as much as the original. We also have non-barbecue items (like hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks,... More

My daughter and I stopped in Sprayberry's Whitley traveling along I-85, knowing nothing about the food. I ordered chopped pork with Brunswick stew. The pork was chopped in chunks which the meat was dry (over cooked) and the BBQ sauce was like water. The stew was bland and Luke warm. My daughter said her chicken taste like they bought it... We are so sorry that our barbecue and stew were not to your taste. Our sauce is a thin, tomato and vinegar based sauce which is considered common place for Georgia regional barbecue. Your stew should have been hot and your server should have replaced it with a hot bowl. We are sorry for that but happy to hear that... More

I'm from Georgia and have eaten a lot of good barbecue. On a recent trip from FL to GA I stopped at Sprayberry's for a quick sandwich. I ordered outside chopped. I got the sandwich and jumped back in the car to continue my trip. The sandwich was awful. I even added all of the sauce that came with the... More

We are so sorry that you were disappointed with your barbecue sandwich! The outside meat really does come off the outside of the ham, so it is crunchy and crispy. Lots of people love this but it may have been extra crispy that time. If you try us again and we hope you will, maybe ask for "some outside meat."... More

They have really good onion rings. The Lewis Grizzard special is really filling and a great favorite with our family. They also have family meals you can get to go. At lunch during the week they have a different traditional meat and vegetable lunch special which is a lot of food for the money and a good meal. My husband... More

Thank you for the glowing review! Our lunch special is really popular. Everyone has their favorite day (is it meatloaf or country-fried steak?). The special includes a meat, 2 vegetables, salad, bread (usually corn sticks) dessert and drink. Lots of people walk out with leftovers too! Thank you for being such a good customer. We look forward to seeing you... More

The BBQ itself was pretty good (not the best I've ever had, though). I had heard great things about their onion tangles. I thought they were pretty bland. I was also a little disappointed that they didn't have a variety of bbq sauces. I'm not a fan of the thin, vinegar style. Most other BBQ places I have been to... More

We know that barbecue is a personal taste and very regional. Our original sauce is a vinegar based red sauce. We do have a mustard based sauce that is relatively new which you may want to try. We do not leave sauce on the tables. We prefer to serve it warm and your server will be happy to bring you... More
