We haven't been to rays millpond in over 40 plus years. Tonight, we went and had the best dinner. It was just as good tonight as it was years ago. The staff was great. It was packed on a Thursday night so that should speak for itself. We got there at 5 with no wait however there was people waiting... More

Established in 1963, Ray's Mill Pond still provides a great family atmosphere with great service, great food and big portions for a reasonable price. The place is always packed so you better get there early! Worth the wait though if you must! The catfish, gator tail, grits, slaw, hushpuppies and sweet pickles are to die for! You cannot go wrong... Great place to eat catfish! We went with 4 adults and 2 kids. We were seated quickly but there is a large air conditioned waiting area if you must wait for a table. Slaw and pickles come out first. Then the main dishes, fried catfish, hush puppies, fries and cheese grits. Top it off with some sweet tea and banana... More

Every time I visit my relatives in So. Georgia I try to visit Ray's. A group of nineteen of us went for dinner on April 23rd. Most everyone ordered catfish with a few selecting shrimp, oysters, grouper or a combination. I had the fried oysters which were plump, delicious and fried perfectly. Since it was near the end of the... More

This place is always packed for a reason. The food and service is good. The catfish is better than most places around south Georgia.

Just as the name implies this restaurant is an old establishment by the mill pond. It is pure old fashioned country. We took Mother out for fried seafood and were not disappointed at all. The staff was friendly. The food was well prepared and fresh. On the way out we walked out to the deck by the pond. The view... More

I was finally able to eat here and it was good. We did sit and waited a little long till we got our server and it wasn't busy. The gator was good and so was the hush puppies. The French fries are French fries and were ok. It's a place I would visit ever so often. Maybe every month to... More

Ever since I move to Valdosta I keep hearing about Rays Millpond Café. Finally made it there to eat when family came into town to visit and the catfish there was terrible. Catfish is supposed to be flakey not mushy!!!! I assure you we will not be going back.

Food was bland. I had heard about Ray's Mill Pond for months. When my wife and I finally tried it, we were disappointed.
