I was told that this was a great place to eat and meet locals. On the way in there were signs taped to the door advertising specials which sounded great. Whe we received the menu, however, a sheet of notepaper had been inserted over the menu that only offered a few choices. We were sat in a corner away from... More

The Depot Diner is no more. It has been replaced by Whistle Stop Junction in the same location with much of the same Depot Diner name still showing. The Depot Diner may have been great but Whistle Stop Junction was one of the worse meals I have had in a long time. The food: Powdered gravy or someone figured out... More

I made a special trip to Depot Diner for their breakfast. I got there around 7 am and the restaurant was about half full. We were not immediately waited on. The waitress was apologetic when she did arrive about the delay and was very nice. She took our orders and brought hot coffee quickly. Unfortunately the coffee was not very... More

Read reviews and was disappointed to find it was not the same place. No interesting desserts. Two sandwiches - fried bologna and BLT - each came out separately. And eggs and biscuits followed. Gravy was watery. In their favor - service was great and they adjusted bill. Friday at 6:00 pm only 5 diners counting the 3 of us.

Good food, friendly staff, beautiful location! We enjoyed the meal and visiting with the staff and customers so much that we returned the second day of our vacation! I tried the fried fish that was excellent! I had a salad with my meal that was fresh and local grown. The kids enjoyed the shrimp and chicken plates and the desert... More

I haven't eaten at the Depot Diner, but I called for some information on trying to locate a place in Rising Fawn and the lady took the time to help me find a lead for possible information for what I was looking. So, if the food is good as the people at the Depot Diner are friendly, I would highly... More
