We were staying at Stone Mountain Manor and they recommended this place and it was in walking distance. The food was amazing and the beer was great. It took a little bit for a server to come to us, but other than that the food was great. I definitely recommend the rubenettes!

One dish I really enjoyed in Germany many years ago was sauerbraten. Since the owners here are German, I expected to enjoy it here too, and I did. They also serve spatzel, which I like. But even if you don't come for a meal, check out the bakery goods. Wonderful!!

I hate to have to leave this review because I have enjoyed The German many times over the years and have warmly recommended it to others. However, we've just had a miserable experience this Mother's Day. We made reservations for 15 and we're excited to share this restaurant with our family. However, we ended up very embarrassed to have brought... More

They serve excellent beer in this German style restaurant and bar. The food was average and the service adequate. Overall a disappointing experience.

After exploring Stone Mountain we were ready for a delicious lunch which we had at the Village Corner. I ordered the pretzel which I had read on Trip Advisor was 'the best pretzel ever'. Well, it was and could feed four people! The sausage, knockwurst, spaetzle, quiche, vegetable soup were awesome. Sidebar: great cup of decaf coffee afterwards!

Loved the good and the beer. It's impossible to leave with out getting something from the bakery as well.

My husband and I love good German food and good German beer. We have been to Germany many times and this place just doesn't come close. I know the owners are from Germany, maybe they should go back and take a refresher course in the food side. The big pretzel is the only food worth ordering. After waiting over 45... More

This German style restaurant had good food, but portions were small for the prices charged. My Reuben was advertised as "piled high with corned beef" but there was very little on my sandwich. It was mostly sauerkraut. My husband's Wiener schnitzel platter was likewise heavy on red cabbage and light on meat. On the plus side, service was cheerful and... More

Description
The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.
