Have been coming to Tawau once every year for the past 20+ years and this is THE place that I MUST come every time. This restaurant is one of the oldest lean pork meat noodle restaurant. If you are not coming with a friend, ordering...food could be confusing. So here’s my recommendation: lean pork meat only with dry noodle (Kang Lou mien, daging saja 瘦肉幹撈麵). Enjoy! :)More

Friends claimed the shop sells the best Sang Yuk Noodle in Tawau so we just need to check it out. Operating from a shotlot, the place is relatively clean and it's crowded at lunch time. 8 of us ordered the same noodle (dry type) with...everything (intestines, meat, meat balls, liver & prawn balls). Must give credit for the quality & taste of the mee was simply superb! However... the serving size of the soup was rather small. Discovered that the prawn ball was really good and we ordered additional 2 bowls (only prawn balls). The waitress informed us that one bowl (8 prawn balls) cost RM13.50. Do not miss the prawn balls! Quality of the drinks (coffee & tea) served was not good. We actually returned the next morning before flying off to KL. The shop open from 6.30am... we were there at 7.30am and it was also crowded. Ordered the same noodle except that the prawn balls were not ready for sale. Still good!More

The main item that most people who come here is to eat the freshly made pork soup with noodles as shown on the photo. This is a typical Chinese coffee shop that has a food stall.

This is an old establishment for Beef Noodle, Chinese Style. It was founded by the original owner some 40 years ago; and the cooking then was done with kerosene stove. Today the traditional taste still persists. Good value meal!

It solely sale pork soup with organ like liver and intestine. You may request only pork meat if you don't like organ meat like me. Shall try the dry noodle (yellow noodle) with this soup. It served with a black onion sauce which able to...boost the taste of the noodle to max.More

Always one of my favourite breakfast. Family run business over 25 plus years. Love their dry mixed egg noodle with pork based soup. Cheap and tasty! Gotta fight with crowd tho as it gets busy from early morning till noon time.

Before coming to Tawau, we already did some survey as where to eat and so on. I was told by a friend from Tawau that we should try the marinated pork noodles at Hing Lee coffee shop. However, when we reached Tawau , our tour...guide Mr Yap recommended another coffee shop Wan Wen, also near at Fajar district, which is near to our hotel. According to him, Wan Wen also sells other food like curry laksa and so on. So we decided to try Wan Wen for breakfast and Hing Lee for lunch! So on the second morning, we didn’t take the hotel breakfast as we wanted to try out the famous local marinated pork noodles (生肉面). We walked to Wan Wen coffee shop which is just eight minute walk from the hotel. Too bad, it was closed on that morning. So we went to HIng Lee. It was packed with people. I would say not bad. The meat is soft and succulent, taste great when you dip in their home-made chili sauce. Besides meat, you can add kidney, liver and so on. But we didn’t. The noodles are smooth and not heavily dyed. One bowl of noodle without addition costs RM 5.50. Must try if you are in Tawau. In fact, according to my friend, you can find this pork noodle in many shops in Tawau. However, this is the most famous one. One good thing is that you don’t feel thirsty after taking it which means not much MSG is added to it. Nevertheless, I am still wondering what food additives they use to marinate the meat until it is so soft and tender. You could see also that the meat is almost bleached! The drinks served here are below expectation! Do not expect good coffee over here. FYI, the shop closes for business at around 2.00 pm.More
