While traveling through Washington my wife and I stopped at the Talk of the Town Cafe for lunch. My wife had the shrimp salad sandwich while I had a cup of tomato-basil soup and a tuna salad sandwich. Both our meals were very good. The cafe was very clean and comfortable and is located on the town square. On-street parking... More

Great soup and sandwich for lunch. Interesting choices and variety beyond what we expected. Not much on atmosphere and loved it if they didn’t serve the sides in Styrofoam.

Met a longtime friend for lunch and catching up on Saturday. It was great! The food was excellent. We both had the Salad Plate and the soup of the day, a chowder. The staff was courteous and service was prompt. We also took time to visit other businesses on the square. The whole experience was pleasant. I am already trying... More

This place had the best Angus burgers and cole slaw. You have to go there if you are in the area. Nice little town. Restaurant is on the square in Washington. Worth the trip. Service people were great. Also, heard they have a wonderful lunch on Sunday. Hours are 11-2.

We stopped here for lunch with another couple while visiting Washington GA. It was the only restaurant opened this day for lunch and it appears that this is a restaurant where locals go to eat. It's a bit noisy inside due to the fact it is located in an old building in town, but we did have an enjoyable lunch.... More

We stopped on our way back to our lake house from a Hilton Head vacation ( backroads!) and were amazed at the food. My husband ordered the daily special Tuna on cornbread jalapeño bread and said it was great. I ordered the soup/Sammie combo and choose the Raging Bull - Roast beef and provolone panini with chipotle sauce and the... More

The food is wonderful here! The service can be slow so don't be in a hurry, but I promise that it is worth the wait! Try the cupcakes!!

Went to Washington, Ga for patriots weekend Feb 12-14 Very historical town, don't miss the first public library in Georgia This restaurant off the square at the courthouse served a great soup and sandwich for a fair price. The color guard parade and Kettle Creek Revolutionary Battle reenactment were very well done by the Georgia Sons of the American Revolution.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch on our way home from the mountains. It was a Sunday and they had a lunch buffet of comfort food. Fried chicken, hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, gravy, macaroni and cheese, fried okra and several other items. It was all good. Some of the tastiest and juiciest fried...
