We were passing through and looking for a local place to eat on a Sunday morning. The Garnet Café was a find! Very busy, short wait -- and I loved the "add your own name to the wait list" format. The menu was so interesting it was hard to choose. My smoked salmon entrée came with so much salmon I... More

Wonderful breakfast! I had ham & eggs & my husband had corned beef hash. Both were fabulous. The sourdough toast was huge with probably homemade jam. It was crowed and we had to wait at least 15 minutes but it was worth it! The server said the weekends were much busier! I would definitely recommend this place to travelers!

Don't let the nondescript exterior fool you. The Garnet Cafe serves up some of the best breakfast selections in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Personable waitstaff serve up creative, extensive menu selections of excellent quality. Try the Coeur d'Alene omelette, chock full of house-smoked trout, cream cheese and avocado for a delicious treat. Add diced potatoes and homemade sourdough toast topped with... More

this small cafe has the best food. have been there for both lunch and brunch, and they have unusual items like duck sausage. their flavors are so good, offerings unique yet down home cooking.

This restaurant is in a jenky, mildly run-down old house, for some reason, but the food is worth trying. My husband ordered duck confit (their breakfast menu has some unorthodox items on it) and I went with the corned beef hash (which the waitress said is brined in house.) The toast was very good (both sourdough and rosemary), but the... More

Food was excellent as well as the service! This is a nice cozy place for breakfast or brunch. Amazing omelettes, crispy bacon and delicious fresh jelly for toast, also, great coffee! Can't ask for a better local breakfast spot.

We tried this little place and it was EXCELLENT. They specialize in farm to table, everything is local, homemade, organic, and wonderful. I had an omelet with diced potatoes my choice of toast was biscuit. It was thick, with bits of rosemary baked in. My husband had the corned beef hash. It was shredded and the best he'd ever had.... Best breakfast in town--- heck, anywhere. Love Garnet. Awesome omlettes and the potatoes are so yummy--not the dried up deep fried nuggets, not these are real potato chunks. Service is always excellent. Often a wait tho!-- they are that good. We have breakfast here at least a couple times a month.
