We ended up getting the baja chicken sandwich and the milenesa. It tasted fresh and the sandwiches are large. They make you order and bring the food to you. Only thing is you are sitting at a table with strangers. Also it is a little on the pricey side. We got churros which were fresh but nothing super special. The... More

My fiancée and I went with another couple and it was delicious! There was no wait and the food came put hot and quickly. We had some drinks and tried a couple of different sandwiches. Goat barbacoa was the special of the day and it was Delicious! We will definitely be going back

What a great place to eat. The prices are very good for the River North neighborhood. Granted you order at the counter and they bring you your food, but it is amazing. We had a group of 4 and ordered 4 tortas, Each couple split their orders and everyone said the tortas were fantastic!

If Rick Bayless is involved, you know you will get your money's worth and more. Anything we have ever tried has been amazing. At Xoco the shrimp torta is awesome, cochinita pibil is spicy wonderful and the goat barbacoa is amazing until they sell out. The guac is delicious and they even have damn good pozole. Xoco is not at... More

Not exactly the Tex-Mex I'm used to from San Francisco, and that is why it was so refreshing. Quality food. This will be one of my first stops when back in the Windy City.

Xoco is not your normal sit down restaurant. When you arrive, the staff give you a menu and usher you into a line so you can place your order at the cashier. They also assign you a table number and you head over there and wait for your food to be delivered. The place is nearly always busy so you... More

I stopped by Xoco on a freezing Saturday afternoon for some lunch. Immediately greeted by a friendly and casual host who went to find me a table while I looked at the menu and ordered. When you order at the cashier, they will ask you for your table number or get it from the host if he hasn't told you... More

This is a small casual restaurant with few tables good for take out, dining alone, or small groups (4-5). The food is good and the churros were the best I've had outside of Mexico. The hot chocolate was decadent. I'd go back for churros y chelate!

Be prepared: when you walk in they ask if you want to sit down or eat in? There is carry out-to go area. If you eat there they give you a number. Then you move down the line and around the counter where you place your order. They hand you a menu right away and there is one posted. You... More

Nobody does Mexican food like Rick Bayless. This is one of his less formal restaurants but they sure don't cut any corners on taste! I had the Carnitas Caldo and the broth alone was to die for not to mention the carnitas, dumplings and other wonderfully fresh ingredients.
