Came here for dinner craving some Mexican food. Very casual but friendly place. Decor pretty uninspiring. Was surprised that you order your food at the bar rather than at the table. You can sit on high chairs or share low tables with others if there...More

You need to stop looking around for places to eat and get yourself over to Xoco. GO! This was quite possibly the BEST meal I had in Chicago. We visited around 5:30 on a Saturday and there was no wait and tables available. It started...More

What a unique restaurant by Rick Bayless - excellent! We went for lunch on a Saturday so it was very busy. Line was only 10 people but it moves fast. They greet you while you're in line to order and explain the menu. You get...More

My wife and I went here for dinner on a Friday night and it was great. The space is small but the food was great! I had the torta de cochinita pibil and it was just like the ones I used to eat when I...More

We visited Chicago for a weekend with our twin 6 year olds. Having always wanted to visit a Rick Bayless restaurant, we were excited by the chance to grab lunch at Xoco with our girls. The set up and ordering system is really chaotic for...More

The system for ordering your food is a little confusing. Here's how I think it is supposed to work: 1. Get in the line 2. A worker is supposed to come by to assign you a table number 3. When you get to the front...More

I love ordering chicharon wherever I go. It's a great conversation piece of a meal and usually a savory treat. Sadly this was the blandest chicharon I've ever had. The sauce was too spicy and not evenly coated, which made some pieces blazing hot and...More

Xoco means "Little Sister" and though it is the smallest of the Rick Bayless restaurants, it is by no means to be ignored. Although ordered at a counter, from their sopas (soups) to their sandwiches (tortas) all the selections are delicious and made to order....More

I was so happy to eat here. We wanted great food but didn't want to have to pay a fine dining cost. We had excellent food and a wonderful experience - at a very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. You...More

Yes, their French Toast is yumm! Good quality is pretty good, although I didn't think much of their Huevos Rancheros... My teenagers loved the brunch items. Slight Mexican tilt, though.
